IFFCO is a co-operative institution of the farmers by


the farmers.

INTRODUCTION OF UREA

It is the first organic compound formed in


laboratory.
First organic compound to be synthesized from
inorganic compound.
Its commercial production was started in 1920 by
L.C.Farben in Germany.

USES OF UREA

Its main applications are:

1- As Fertilizer in agriculture.

2- As Cattle Feed.

3 - As an important raw material for a number of


industrial/household like urea formaldehyde melamine and urea
furfural.
4 - It is also used in adhesives, textile anti- shrink compounds &
an intermediate in preparation of pigments.
