The teachers will be given a number to display on the place value board. The students will be
asked to identify whether the teachers are standing in the right place value. If not in the right

Each cone will have a number and students will build with ice cream scoops to represent the

Procedure:
Students will roll stuffed die onto the hopscotch game that has been laid out on the floor. They
will hopscotch to where die has landed, they will bring the number they land on to the table
where whiteboard is at, theteacherwillaskstudenttowritethatparticularnumberinaparticular
place value spot that has been prewritten on whiteboard. Once all three values havebeenfilled
thestudentswillaltogethersaynumberoutloud.

Procedure:
Students will be given a number 1120. They will place the number on top of their place value
chart and add the number of 100s 10s and 1s that belong to their specific number. They will
repeat these steps for another number. After both are setup, they will read their statements
aloud. Finally, they will place a symbol (greater than, lessthanorequalto)inbetweentheirtwo
charts.Thiswillgoforseveralrounds,untiltimeexpires.(5minutes)

Procedure:
For this activity students will get in groups to participate (depending on how many studentsthe
groups will be divided), they will get five pingpong balls in total with a random number.They
will try to make the biggest number they can from 1300 by throwing the pingpong balls into
one of the place values (ones, tens, hundreds). Finally Students will have to write and read the
statement then, if correct, they will place the number on the board to identify which number is
greaterbyusingthecorrectsymbol.
