AAPG Student Membership
o Reminder for all students to confirm their AAPG membership is current
o Application: https://www2.aapg.org/member/application_student.cfm
Be sure to take advantage of having your dues paid for by Chevron!
o Once your membership is current, please email your member ID number to
utep.aapg.student.chapter@gmail.com for the student chapter records
Upcoming Recruiting Meetings
o Students were informed that both recruiting meetings had reached maximum
capacity and registrations were now closed
o List of students attending meetings was compiled for planning purposes
o Rocky Mountain Rendezvous (Laramie, WY) Sept. 17-21, 2015
Students attending RMR will be responsible for their own expenses
o AAPG SEG Student Expo (Houston, TX) Sept. 22-23, 2015
Officers intend to submit a request with UTEP for travel funds to offset
some cost of travel and/or accommodation
Any students interested in being included on this travel fund request
must submit a $40 deposit to one of the officers no later than Friday,
Sept. 4 to reserve their spot
Travel and accommodation plans will be discussed and finalized at the
next chapter meeting
o Some companies require pre-screening applications prior to interviews

yourself time/hassle at the actual event:

Recruiting Assistance
o Chevron will conduct on-campus interviews on Sept. 18
Submit resumes and transcripts (.pdf format and labeled with your
name) to Nila Matsler (nbmatsler@utep.edu) no later than Sept. 4

o Hess will accept online applications in lieu of an on-campus visit

questions are encouraged to contact the officers and any other members with
previous internship experience
Regular meeting times
o Decisions on scheduling regular weekly/bi-weekly meeting times will be
determined by an online member poll
