Agenda:
Fluvial Stratigraphy Short Course this Sunday (4/10) in Abilene, TX
o If you plan to attend, you must sign up ASAP!
o Travel and accommodation arrangements were discussed, so if you do
plan to attend the short course, but were not at the meeting, contact Matt
Heibing for details.
AAPG will be hosting Brian Brister, the seminar speaker for next week, April 7th
o He will be doing an informational career session from 12:30 1:30 pm
in Rm. 308 to discuss jobs in oil and gas we hope many of you take
advantage of this opportunity to speak with him.
April short courses in the UTEP geology department
o Dave Steele (Shell Oil) will be the seminar speaker on 4/21 and his short
course on Play-Based Exploration in the Petroleum Industry will be on
4/22 from 9am 4pm (note that this is all-day Friday)
o Mike Lewan (retired USGS) will be the seminar speaker on 4/28 and his
short course on Stages of Petroleum Formation: New Insights on Old
Paradigms will be on 4/28 from 9am 12pm (note that this will be
Thursday morning before seminar)
o Reference last weeks email from Rachelle Kernen for details on signing
up for these short courses each short course will be capped at only 20
people, so dont miss out on these great opportunities!
