Travel Brochure-State Report

For this part of your state report, you will be creating a travel
brochure about your state! Your goal is to share information and
encourage readers to visit your state.
Directions:

1. Hold a sheet of paper horizontally and fold the paper in

thirds to form a brochure. First, fold the third on the
right. Then fold the third on the left.
2. On the front cover of the brochure include the name of
your state, the state flag, the state nickname, state motto
and your name.

3. On the front of the right flap, include your state flower,

bird, and any other state symbols, the climate and major
cities.
Sketch:

4. On the left inside flap, write a brief history of your state

(1-2 paragraphs), including the date it was admitted into the
Union, important events in its history, and the current
population.

the other states/countries/oceans bordering your state.
Be sure everything is labeled and colored neatly (in colored
pencil or crayon only) and completely.

Important things to remember:

You may use magazines, the internet, ect. for pictures.
Be creative to show the attributes of your state!
Your map must be hand-drawn. I am looking for colorful,
completed drawings using crayons or colored pencils only.
Be sure to check spelling, grammar and punctuation. You
need to do a rough draft before writing your actual
brochure. You may type the written parts of your
brochure if you choose-this is optional.
