Kindergarten Monday Memo

Week of October 19th

Homework
:
Jack-o-Lantern Sequencing, Sight word worksheets, nightly reading (please
record each night on reading log), Black Math Practice book Reteach and Practice pages for
lessons 2-4, 2-5 and 2-6 (both sides), and SIPPS (Systematic Instruction in Phonics,
Phonemic Awareness, and Sight Words) reading practice. SIPPS leveled reading practice page
will come home on Tuesdays.
Folders are due on Thursday

Pumpkin Patch: Thank you to the parents that accompanied us to the Pumpkin
Patch! Y
our childs pumpkin will remain at school for a few days as we explore math and
science concepts with them.

SIPPS Reading Program:

Our SIPPS reading program is off to a great start. Please help
your child become a fluent reader by listening to them read the practice page each night.
The practice page comes home on Tuesday.

Halloween Activity Day: Kindergarten Activity Day is on Friday, October 30th. We will
need some parents to help set up immediately following the morning bell at 8:00 AM. We will
start activities at 8:45. Room parents will be contacting some of you for
refreshments/supplies for the day.
Red Ribbon Kick-off Assembly:
Friday, Oct. 23rd. Wear your favorite college shirt to show
that Oak Mesa Students are college bound!
Red Ribbon Week (next week 10/25 - 10/30)
Monday 10/26 Wear your craziest socks to school.
Tuesday 10/27 Wear fun and bright neon colors.
Wednesday 10/28 Pajama Day (must wear shoes, no slippers)
Thursday 10/29 Wear red shirt
Friday 10/30 Halloween shirt or Halloween colors; black orange green or purple.

FYI:
Fri. 10/30 Kindergarten Halloween Activity Day. Students are encouraged to wear Halloween
colors or Halloween shirts.
Fri. 10/30 5:30 Art Expo and PTA Trunk or Treat
Wed. 11/11 Veterans Day NO SCHOOL
