Fabulous 1st Graders
Classroom Rules:
1. We will listen to the teacher and follow directions.
a. If we are not listening to what our teacher is saying we
might miss important information and we wont know
which directions to follow.
2. We will raise our hand to speak or stand.
a. If we just shout out words or stand whenever we want it is
disruptive to the class and makes for a crazy classroom
environment.
3. We will be kind and be honest.
a. This creates a beneficial learning environment us. If we are
mean and do not tell the truth we will have trouble in the
classroom and it will take away from our learning. We want
everyone to feel comfortable and have fun!
4. We will use inside voices.
a. If we are too noisy we might disturb other classrooms and
take away from their learning experience. When we are too
loud it creates a chaotic classroom.
5. We will walk in the classroom.
a. If we do not walk we might fall or run into other people. It
is not safe to run around in the classroom.
Rewards:
Making good grades
Positive note home
Class line leader for the day
Teachers special helper for the day
Get to feed the class animal for the day
Extra credit
Consequences:
Verbal warning (2X)
Private conversation between student and teacher
Time out
Communication with parent (letter, email, phone call)
Referral to the office
Parent-Teacher conference
Procedures

 Washing hands- I will wash my hands with soap for 20 seconds so

that I will get all the germs off my hands and wont spread them
around the classroom.
Encouraging others- I will encourage others so that they will feel
confident with themselves and know I support them.
Lining up- I will wait for the teacher to tell me it is okay to line up
so that we will be able to line up quickly and in an orderly fashion
Visitors in the classroom- When we have visitors in the classroom
I will be on my best behavior so that my visitors feel welcome.
Backpack- I will hang up my backpack on the rack when I come
into class so that it will not be a distraction to me during the day.
