Makamisa: Rizals Third and Unfinished Novel

We all know that Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo were Rizals novels
that opened the eyes of many Filipinos over the rule of Spaniards. But did you know
that he started a sequel to El Filibusterismo? It was Makamisa. He wrote it in 1982
when he was in Hong Kong. The book is in Tagalog and gave the first chapter
entitled Makamisa, which in English, After Mass.
The original manuscript was found by historian Ambeth Ocampo in 1987
while he was going through a 245-page stack of writings entitled Borrador del Noli
Me Tangere.. This draft was written in pure, vernacular Lagunense Tagalog and has
no written direct signature or date of inscription . Ocampo reconstructed this draft
and translated it into a rich and full narrative, now known as the Makamisa.
Why is it thought of as unfinished? Because it ends in a sentence that reads,
Sapagkt nabalitang nasampl si Aleng Anday ay wala mandin silng,.
Here are the seven characters that are mentioned in the unfinished novel:

So, what do you think about Makamisa? If this was finished by Rizal, will it be as
successful as his two novels? Nobody knows. But we all know that, Rizal made a
