Constantin Brancusi

Biography
Constantine Brancusi (February 19th,
1876 March 15th, 1957) was a
Romanian born painter, sculptor and
photographer. His art career first started
off in France, before this his formal
studies had taken him to different
places, the first being Bucharest and
then Munich. Brancusi is considered one
of the pioneers of modernism and is said
to be one of the most influential
sculptors of the 20th century. Brancusi
drew inspiration from non-European
influences as a source for primitive
ideas. Although some pieces of his work
do resemble Romanian folk art.

Initial Thoughts
When first looking at images of Brancusis work I
immediately got inspiration for my city just from the
simple statues and shapes of his sculptures. I have
based several main ideas of my city from the images
shown here alone.
