This patent entails a tape measure with a laser beam that comprises a case, a laser device
carried in the case thats capable of transmitting a laser beam from it, and a roll of measuring
tape supported in the case. The measuring tape roll is disposed to be rewound into the case
by a conventional spring mechanism. A power supply source is included, comprising
connected batteries, solar cells and a dynamo that are electrically coupled to the laser for
enabling laser beam transmission form it.

Although this device adds a laser beam to improve accuracy, a measuring tape is not yet
accurate enough and has too much room for human error therefore we dont see it as a threat
to our ideas. We want to be able to measure elevation and angles and this doesnt help do
that. Also, how reliable are the laser beams, are all materials able to show a laser beam on
them?
