such as alleys or places with dark history or
abandoned houses hostels or asylums, lakes woods
Camera work is expressive and not natural and a
POV shot can help the audience see the scene from
the monsters or ghost point of view
Visual style often dark colours such as red or black
Characters hero/ victim and fictional characters
such as zombies, ghosts ect
Has many themes such as suicide, depression good
vs evil, religion
Sound- audio is key when editing sound ios used to
b uild up suspence, exaggerated diegetic sound for
tension

Genre usually include sexuality, status,
gender and relationships

Props- wedding bells also sound,
flowers
Voiceovers are usually used maybe to
introduce the theme
Aimed at female audience
