Types of Fractions
Fractions can be classified as proper or improper. In proper fractions, the
numerator is smaller than the denominator. In an improper fraction, the
numerator is larger than the denominator. It is generally considered proper
to change improper fractions to mixed numbers.
Example of proper fractions: , , 4/5, 6/7
Example of improper fractions: 4/3 , 6/5, 9/8
A mixed fraction is a whole number and a fraction combined into one
"mixed" number. Example: 1 (one and a half) is a mixed fraction. (Also called
a Mixed Number)

of fractions (giving examples of each) , write /re-write fractions with specific
denominators , reduce fractions to their lowest terms and arrange fractions in order
of size ascending/descending.
