I would like to have met with you tonight, but I am at work.The Board forgot to ask all
new candidates their times of availability prior to scheduling this meeting for them

Why should YOU vote for me?

1) I love our 1000 N. LSD, it is my only residence, therefore I care about it being a safe, well maintained
and comfortable living place
2) As a resident, I am aware whenever the heat has not been activated, or the plumbing shut off, when
there is flood in front of elevatorsI live with the same issues you encounter, I do not get special
treatment
3) Out of 8 board members only 4 reside in the building

As a board member, I aim to:

1) Decrease our assessments* while improving our building maintenance;
2) Increase property value by anlyzing needed improvements* and implementing them adequately$
3) Open communication# between board and homeowners resulting in owners effective, decisional
input before their money is used- for major projects@
4) Fix/solve current heat and plumbing related problems that plague the building5
5) Fix safety issues -due to non respect of regulations or to bad maintenance- affecting owners
present and future health;
6) Stop and prevent future retaliatory behaviors from management and board toward owners
7) Receive revenue from garage6 that can be used to increase building amenties (fitness room, year
long deck, garage improvement.

What I have done as a resident:

1) Increase Communication:
a.
Maintained a face book page (2008 to 2011)
Where I posted my notes of board meetings, information I obtained for the building
improvement, personal experience with contractors, etc.
b.
Maintaining a Blog with notes from board meetings; general condo notes; safety and
compliance regulation and issues (2015-);
c.
Blog opened to comments and suggestions (2015-)
d.
Ran several (anonymous) surveys, to gauge the what is important for owners,
particularly regarding the promenade project, heat, plumbing, windows..maintenance
(available to you) (2009; 2014-)
2) Analyzing and Fixing Issues:
a.
Organized a Window/Faade group discussion in the building (2010-2011)
b.
Organized Budget Tightening and Faade/ Plumbing/Heat group solving issues
3) I developed a 5-year plan for Budget with (2014-2015):
a. positive income (instead of loss) and
b. 10% decrease of assessment and
c. decrease garage cost
d. increase garage features
e. increase heat and plumbing efficiency
f. Without decreasing the reserve

My Strengths

(1) ability to listen and analyze issues, for best outcome/resolution; (2) tight budget planning; (3)
awareness and attention to details (i.e. construction, safety/toxicity, hygiene and health of our
community).

Educational and Professional Background

Doctorate in Neurophysiology (Summa Cum Laude with Distinction). Special areas of studies are Disease
and Injury of the Brain and the Spinal Cord.
First Violin at the Music Conservatory and at the Symphonic Orchestra Jeunes Provence (directed by
Zino Francescatti).
Professional Experience: Professor of Physiology at different Universities. Scientist at the Department
of Energy, Laboratory Director, NIH and NSF and others Grants recipient.
Board Experience: Over 30 years of board experience ranging from university student, sport, to
professional boards.
*Scientific Peer Reviewer for different Granting National and International institutions (2005- Present).
*Scientific Peer Reviewer for several international scientific Peer Reviewed Journals (2004-Present).
*Science advisory board member (2008-Present).
*Grievance Committee member, Chair (2007-2008).
*NASA Reviewer for EPSCor (2007).
*Laboratory Safety Committee (2005-2008)
