Title: My Horcrux
Specific Speech Purpose: To entertain my Comm. 3 class with a story about
my creative journal and its importance to me
Statement: My journal, like a horcux, holds fragments of myself.

Attention Step: Do you know what Tom Riddle a.k.a. Voldemort and I
have in common? Aside from a seemingly odd obsession with dark
colored clothing, we both own a black notebook. This may look
ordinary but do not be fooled!
Clarification Step: This, my friends, holds fragments of myself.
Indeed, just like what Tom Riddles diary was to him, this is my
horcrux.

I needed an outlet for my creativity.

A. Summer vacation consisted of months where laziness cultivates.
1. Nights were spent with eyes glued to my laptop screen.
2. Mornings were almost nonexistent due to my unhealthy body
clock.
B. As an attempt to end spending my vacation dully, I chose to
develop my art skills.
1. I bought this notebook.
2. I started creating art.
I started to value my journal greatly.
A. Every artwork in the pages holds a meaning.
1. I wrote and painted what I felt.
B. It has become a necessity.
1. Id never leave home without it.
2. I brought it with me from Laguna all the way to Katipunan.
This journal is the embodiment of myself depicted in a variety of
meaningful artworks.
A. The art it contains symbolizes fragments of myself.
1. Each page illustrates a different feeling, idea or thought.
CONCLUSION

Summary Step: In a way, how it represents me resembles the idea of a

horcrux. Horcruxes, from the Harry Potter series, are objects where dark
wizards or witches hide fragments of their souls in order to attain immortality.
This journal contains pages in which you are able to see fragments of myself.

The immortality that Ive attained through the creation of this horcrux is this
itself. The illustrations that you see in here will live on even after my death.
Now, if youre interested in attaining immortality, Ill tell you how. In order to
create a horcrux, one must first commit a supreme act of evil or, in my case,
spend 99 pesos.
