Baby Animals

Preassessment and Findings:

Children realize that there are animals in the world and they can see that there are baby animals as well. They
also recognize that animals grow up but not really how they grow up. I found that when children are asked about
babies, they understand that they are bigger than babies. Children dont really understand how much it takes to
take care of a baby. Children also dont realize how much parents care for us in our lives. Many children in the
classroom have younger siblings and some have parents who are expecting a baby. This is appropriate for children
to understand that we all start off as babies.

Ideas to be Emphasized:
1. Babies grow and learn new things that help them support themselves when they grow-up
2. Baby animals have to be cared for so that they can be healthy and happy.
3. It is important, we treat baby animals with respect.
