FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mid-South Food Bank Fat Tuesday Party

Memphis, Tenn., Feb. 17, 2015 The Mid-South Food Bank is excited to announce that it will be hosting a
Mardi Gras-themed Fat Tuesday party in order to raise funds to support its many feeding initiatives in the MidSouth area. The party will be held at the Sheffield Antique Mall in Memphis, Tenn. on Feb. 17, 2015 from 6:30-9:30
p.m. Tickets are $15.
Tickets can be pre-purchased at the main Mid-South Food Bank location, or at the Sheffield Antiques Mall
on the night of the event. There is no extra cost for tickets purchased the night of the party.
Every ticket purchase will provide 45 meals to children, families, and seniors in the Mid-South. Everyone in
the Mid-South area is more than welcome to attend, and whos to say that a night on the town, food, drinks and
giving back to the community isnt worth $15!
This lively evening will include authentic Cajun music with a live jazz performance by the Carl Wolfe
Quartet, as well as delicious New Orleans Creole food and drink stations. There will be games for the whole family
with many great prizes to be won, and it wouldnt be Mardi Gras without the sparkling and colorful parade beads!
The Mid-South Food Bank is hosting this event for the second time due to the great response from the

Memphis community. Last year the event raised almost $5,700 to support the many feeding initiatives the food
bank conducts. In response to the success last March, Mid-South Food Bank President & CEO Estella MayhueGreer commented on the city of Memphis and said, It's such a caring and giving city. You see that over and over
again. We see this generosity in the fact that last year, the food bank distributed 15.3 million pounds of food which
was all donated.
