“The Fox and the Grapes”

One hot summer’s day a fox was strolling through a garden when he came to a
bunch of grapes ripening on a vine. The grapes were hanging over a lofty branch.

“Just the thing to cure my thirst,” he said. Walking back a few steps, he took a run
and a jump and just missed the bunch. He tried again, jumping a little higher, but
with no greater success.

Again and again he tried to grab the tempting grapes, but at last he gave up and
walked away with his nose in the air, saying: “I am sure they are sour.”
