Duties including: 1) Meet with students one-on-one and provide relative training in a

UAHuntsville Central Campus Residence Hall [Fall 2015 present]
I work the front desk at the freshman dormitory on campus. Duties include monitoring
who is entering and exiting the building, checking visitors in, sorting mail, answering
phones, and providing students with basic information about campus services.

Student Observer and Tutor at J.O. Johnson High School [Fall 2015]
Under the supervision of Ms. Heller, I observed and interacted with a diverse group of
tenth and eleventh grade students. I was in charge of the classroom on two separate days.
I also provided individualized instruction to an EL student.
Co-Founder/Parliamentarian of The Writers Block [Fall 2013 present]
The Writers Block is UAHs official creative writing club, founded in Fall of 2013. We
provide weekly workshops with the goal of inspiring writers. We also publish a yearly
literary and arts magazine, which is completely funded by the University.
Reading Tutor at Paine Elementary School [Fall 2011 Spring 2013]
I provided free reading tutoring to primary students who were identified as at-risk. This
included students who were serviced in the special education classroom.

HTHS Leadership Team Captain [Fall 2011 Spring 2013]


The Leadership Team was a schoolwide program which consisted of students who were
chosen as outstanding leaders by faculty and peers. Members of the Leadership Team go
on a yearly retreat in which they learn how to become better leaders. They also must
complete a number of volunteer hours in the community. As a captain, I was in charge of
a group of members and was also an instructor during the retreat.
Volunteer at Jesses Place in Birmingham, Alabama [Fall 2011 Spring 2013]
For two years, I worked children who lived at the women and childrens home. My duties
included monitoring and playing with the children, hosting events, and providing basic
educational services.
