STEP/DRILL INSTRUCTOR, ROBERT H. HARVEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
I was responsible for teaching drill to students between the grade levels of K-5 for two hours
out of each day. This was a segment of the Family, Literacy, Academic, Achievement and
Growth program (F.L.A.A.G.) that was held at the school. I achieved the goal of successfully
teaching and constructing a show that the students performed for their teachers and family
at the end of the program.

VOLUNTEER/JOB SHADOW, SOUTHSIDE MIDDLE SCHOOL
For the purpose of volunteer and personal experience, I shadowed a 7th grade teacher during
a summer school program. I acted as a teacher’s assistant as well as observing different
teaching techniques throughout the entirety of the program. I accomplished the goal of
instructing the class for a full day toward the end of the program and gaining the experience,
as well as observing different challenges to be aware of and overcome as a future educator.
