A midwife is a person who assists,


provides care, supports and gives
advise to women during pregnancy,
labor and delivery, and the time after
the birth of the child.

Midwives go to school for


three years.
Tuition is $25,600 for a 37
month program at Nizhoni
Institute of Midwifery in San
Diego.

A Midwives day-to-day basis is


always different everyday. She
could be delivering babies or inbetween births, she meets with
pregnant women in different
stages of their pregnancy to coach
them about what they should
expect. Every month a midwife
delivers, on average, about three
babies.

Midwives are paid $2,000$4,000 per homebirth. They


deliver two to four babies per
month.
Starting salaries for midwives is
$48,000 per year. That is if the
midwife delivers two babies a
month and charges $2,000.
After ten years of being a
midwife, your salary could be
