TELL US ABOUT YOUR CAREER PLANS AND FUTURE ASPIRATIONS

After completing MSW, job opportunities are in hospital and community health settings,
youth work, legal aid or research, alcohol & drug counselling and many more. My monthly
income after completing MSW is expected to be around $ 80,000-95,000(INR 44 00,000 to
52 25,000) annually. However, if I did MSW in India, my annual income would be about
$9090 (INR 5 00,000), so pursuing MSW from Australia is a good option. After conducting
extensive research in various locations in Australia, there is a deep understanding of the link
between quality education, graduate employability, and the contribution they may make to
the economy. Once I return home, I look forward to working with various NGOs to help and
assist underprivileged individuals, families, communities and other groups.

TELL US WHY YOU HAVE CHOSEN FLINDERS UNIVERSITY

Flinders University is one of the most recognised universities in South Australia, and its
lecturers are very approachable. They are eager to help you succeed. It is known as a global
and multicultural university, with students from over 90 countries worldwide.

In India, only a few universities offer MSW; some are Christ University, Presidency College
and Madras Christian College. In Australia, universities like the University of Wollongong,
the University of New South Wales and Curtin University also offer MSW. Apart from India
and Australia, MSW is provided at various Universities such as Boston College, Columbia
University and the University of Michigan. But, there is a difference between the course
offered by these universities and the ones at Flinders University. Flinders University offers a
great blend of fieldwork and theory classes in MSW. Diverse populations, Trauma,
Resilience and Mental Healthcare are some interesting topics offered by Flinders University.
The course also meets the standards set by the Australian Association of Social Workers and
would provide insight into what social work is all about. The courses offered by the other
universities focus on a wide range of specialisations. Still, the course at Flinders suits me the
best due to the curriculum and the vast employment options upon completion. Flinders
University offers industry-driven degrees and world-class facilities and will enable me to
encounter a rich learning experience with excellent prospects. It will teach important things to
help me grow as a social worker.

TELL US WHY YOU HAVE APPLIED FOR THIS PROGRAM

After graduating, I began my own business. With it, I got involved in social work and helped
people with Covid 19, and I worked with various NGOs, and while doing business, I worked
at an NGO and decided right away that I wanted to work in the field of social work. I
researched and found the course suitable to my requirements at your renowned institute.

After completing this degree from Flinders University, my job-seeking abilities will rise
exponentially. This degree would enable me to work in both the public and private sectors.
For my Bachelor’s degree, I studied Psychology, Sociology, and Public Administration, all of
which are related to the field of social work. After graduating, I got involved in social work
and helped people in Covid 19 and I worked with various NGOs and I decided right away
that I wanted to work in the field of social work.

TELL US ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

I currently reside in Sirsa, Haryana, with my family. My family consists of three members my
parents and me. My father works in finance and has previously worked for some notable
organisations. He also owns agricultural property in my local village. My mother owns a
business. After completing class 12th from science background I started preparing for JEE,
appeared from Exam in March 2017 (took a year for preparation), after that I took admission
in Bachelor of Arts, University of Rajasthan in 2017, while working with NGOs I also started
my business in 2020 named as Guzaarish Creations still working as a proprietor and my
earnings from this business ranges between 300-400 thousands annually.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR POTENTIAL CIRCUMSTANCES IN AUSTRALIA

Adelaide is a cosmopolitan city and very welcoming to the new members of this city. Per my
research, my living cost would be around $ 20,000 annually.

My parents will sponsor me in Australia to pay for my education and living expenses. They
have more than $58000, have savings of $5500. I am submitting documents and bank
statements. After completing my studies, I would return to India because I have strong ties to
the country, as my entire family resides in India.

As per my knowledge, a student must maintain satisfactory course attendance and Overseas
Student Health Cover as applied to student visa holders in Australia.
