STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

 INTRODUCTION
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”

With reference to the above statement I want to introduce myself as Manju born on 24 th December
1984. My passport number is T1454429. I am currently living in house number 19, ward number 14,
gali number 10 Makkasasar, Hanumangarh.

 FAMILY DETAILS
I live in a nuclear well- knit family in India. My father Mr. Fakir Chand is an agriculturist and my
mother Mrs. Atma Bai is a home maker. Both my parents are very kind and supportive. They have
supported me emotionally as well as financially in all my decisions. And they are even supporting me
in my decision of pursuing my higher education form Australia. My father is sponsoring my
education land my stay in Australia My dream of studying abroad is only being possible due to their
love and support.

 EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
As far as my education is concerned, I have completed my class 10 th in 2012 form Board of Secondary
Education, Haryana from GOVERNMENT MODEL SANSKRITI SR. SEC. SCHOOL, SIRSA with 66% marks.
After that, I cleared my class 12th in 2014 from the same board in Science Stream fromGOVERNMENT
MODEL SANSKRITI SR. SEC. SCHOOL, SIRSA. Then, I enrolled myself in Chandari Devi Lal University,
Sirsa for my graduation. I completed my Bachelor Of Science (Non Medical) with first devision in
2017 from JAN NAYAK CH. DEVI LAL MEMORIAL COLLEGE, SIRSA. After that I completed my Master
Of Science, Mathematics in 2019 from the same university with 8.15 C.G.P.A. And then I enrolled
myself for Bachelors Of Education from Tirupati College Of Education, Sardulgarh Road, Ratia
Fatehabad and passes it with first devision. But now I have taken a major decision of moving to
Australia for my Masters Of Eduction

 PTE SCORE
After taking the decision of pursuing my higher education from Australia. Then the next step is to
prove my English proficiency and for that I could go either for IELTS or for PET. So, I started preparing
for PTE exam and I finally gave the test on 31 December, 2021 and cleared it with overall score of 64.

After clearing my B.ED in 2021, I started working in NIIPS Institute as Mathematics teacher from
September 2021 to till date. I am withdrawing a monthly salary of INR 11,000 per month. They
are highly appreciating my hard work and dedication in teaching. My job responsibilities in the
organization include:-

 Providing one-on one tutoring session to students.

 Preparing lesson plans and teaching materials to ensure that lessons are effective.
 Communicating with parents about their child’s progress.
 Observing students behavior during lessons.
 Helping management and note taking.

When I chose Australia for my higher education, I became sure that this decision would be really
very beneficial for my career development. But the next major decision was to select the best
university for my Master Of Education. There are many universities in Australia offering the similar
course. Some of the universities are University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, Monash
University, University of Queensland etc. so I started researching for comparing the universities as I
have heard a lot about La Trobe University. So, I took a comparison considering different factors like
Eligibility, tuition fees, living Expense etc. My comparison is an follows:-

 University of New South Wales

This university offers this course as 1 year full time degree. The annual fees of this university
is INR 28.6 lakh and it needs 6.5 bands score ad its eligibility criteria. When I compared this
university with La Trobe, I conclude that the fees of this university is much higher which
makes it unaffordable.
 Edith Cowan University
This university offers this degree at 1 year course with annual tuition fees of 16.5 lakh and
6.5 babd score in IELTS as its eligibility criteria. Due to its criteria, It make difficult to get
enrolled in this university.
 Deaking University

The annual fees of this university is INR 23.5 lakh with 6.5 babd score in IELTS as its eligibility
criteria.Due to high fees and greater expense of living I have not selected this university.
Due to all such reasons, I have selected La Trobe University over other universities.

 WHY LA TROBE UNIVERSITY ?

It is a public research university board in Melbourne, Australia. Its main campus is located in the
suburb of Bundoora. It was established at n 1964 and is one of the Australian Verdant University
and also a part of innovative research Universities group. This university offers undergraduate
and postgraduate courses across its two colleges of Art, Social Science and commerce (ASSC) and
Science, Health and Engineering (SHE). In 2015, it was ranked in the top 100 universities under
50 by the Times Higher Education world university Rankings. In the 2021, QS world university
Rankings, it was ranked in the top 300 universities for arts and humanities. It is ranked first in the
world for gender equality, second for social and economic impact. The primary reason due to
which international students are preferring this university is its highly competitive and
experienced faculty and staff and also the quality education is offers to students.

Apart from academics this university also offers an amazing campus life to the students with a
broad range of co-curricular activities. It also takes care of financial issues of the students by
presenting them with many scholarships programs. The other main aspect that I have
considered is living in Australia is about 1750 AUD with a range of 1450 AUD to 2500 AUD per
month. But La Trobe offers accommodation in the campus hostels as well where the students
have to pay 1000 AUD per month. This university design courses in such a way that we can
combine our degree with fully equipped state-of-the-art labs, nursing simulation room, TV studio
and wildlife sanctuary. It also provides range of support services like learning hubs, one-on-one
mentoring and workshops for both domestic as well as international students. It has a reward of
86.5% in terms of graduate employment. The most prestigious university- ranking Organization
routinely place LA TROBE among the best universities in the world. Thanks to their innovation
teaching and learning, I have selected this university for my masters of education.

 WHY MASTER OF EDUCATION?

Masters of Education is Australia is a 2year course providing relevant professional learning for
educators in various fields such as early childhood, primary, secondary tertiary, vocational and
adult. It is Designed for professionals who want to develop or extend their expertise and seek to
more into leadership specialist. It attracts a lot of international students for studying in Australia
due to fast growth of education and training industry. Some of the facts that prompted me to
select this course are as follows:-

 According to the development of employment skills, small and family businesses of

Australia, over 1,03,400 peoples were employed in the education and training industry
which is 31% of total employment of the country.
 The industry is projected to grow by 11.2% by may 2023.
 72% of the population employed in the education and training industry is female.
 Only 39% of people employed in this industry are working part time
 Top employing occupation in this sector are primary teachers, secondary school teachers
and educational aides.
 University teacher in Australia is the highest paid professions across all countries of the
world.

All these factors have influenced me to choose this course.

 MELBOURNE (BUNDOORA) CAMPUS?

The Melbourne campus Bundoora is the Foundation campus of La Trobe and was officially
opened in one 1967 when La Trobe began operations. It is the largest university campus in the
southern Hemisphere, encompassing 235 hect area, including the adjacent Nangak Tamboree
wildlife Sanctuary. It has around 22000 students on campus and therefore has many facilities
such as restaurants, bars, shops, banks and an art gallery. The main library on the campus, the
Borcharalt, has well over one million volume. This campus is also a home to La Trobe university
medical center and La Trobe private hospital. It also has sporting and recreation facilities such as
indoor pool, gym, playing fields, and indoor stadiums. All these facilities have prompted me to
select this campus.
