Statement of Purpose

My name is Ammar Imran and I have applied in Diploma of Business Enterprises. Talking
about my family, we are six family members including me. My father is a businessman and is
owner of best fashion boutique since 1994. My mother is a house wife and looks after
everyone very nicely. I have an elder brother who is studying law and two younger brothers,
one of them is in college and the youngest one is in the grade three. I have done intermediate
in computer sciences (ICS). Below is my education background.

I have given PTE exam on 3rd, January, 2022 and scored well. I got 58 in Listening, 58 in
writing, 63 in Reading, 81 in Speaking and an overall score of 62. I have attached my
Score Report. I applied in Victoria University, getting admission in such a prestigious
university is an achievement in itself. The admission officer was very nice and the process
was very smooth. I gave all the documents that were asked by the admission officer and once
verified, I got my Offer Letter. Then after that I started to gather my financial documents,
bank statements, and father’s current account information. All of these documents are
compiled and ready.
The reason for not studying in home country:
When I decided to pursue my degree towards business management my first thought was to
apply in Pakistan’s leading universities as these universities offer wide range of business
management courses. After completion of 4 years program of education, students do not have
firm experience and huge gap exists between university and industry. No matter how far
Pakistan has come in education sector but still we cannot compare the universities of foreign
world-class universities that are providing best and quality education to students of different
countries. Only 3 Pakistani universities are in the list of top 800. Higher Education
Commission of Pakistan focusses more on quantity rather than quality of education of
multiple media agencies have reported this fact. Also, local graduates have less scope in
Pakistan than foreign graduates from world class universities. During my study I found the
importance of international degree as the degree speaks itself. Students with international
degrees have advance knowledge of their tasks due to which they easily acquire high
positions along with handsome salary packages in the firm. Education system in Pakistan is
book-focused where one can pass the exams by memorizing notes, old questions and books
rather than any research or practical projects. Australian Education System is regarded to be
one of the most impressive in the world and it has been maintaining its high standard where
the government carefully regulates the education system. Pakistani Universities ranking
worldwide, I came to know that none of Pakistani universities fall among top 100
Universities of the world.

Why not any other Country Like UK, USA and Canada:
I have considered different destinations like, Australia, UK, USA and Canada for further
studies. I compared certain factors that includes entry requirements, weather conditions,
tuition fee, crime rate, racism, and current COVID-19 condition.
In Canada, universities like University of Toronto with annual fee of approximately CAD19,
006 and University of Waterloo with annual fee of approximately CAD 14,233 offers the
course similar to Bachelor of Business. These universities not only costs more as compared to
Australia but also have a high entry requirement; some universities of Canada also require
high score in SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test). Moreover, the Canadian dollar (1 CAD =
140 PKR) is expensive in contrast with the Australian dollar (1 AUD = 128.46 PKR). But the
major hindrance in choosing Canada as destination was its extreme cold weather, it was
difficult for an inhabitant like me to settle in such cold environment and study.
In United Kingdom, I have searched universities that includes University of Liverpool with
annual fee of GBP 22,650 and University of Birmingham with annual fee of GBP 19,020 -
19,740. I have not chosen UK because it has one of the world’s most expensive currencies 1
GBP = 232 PKR and the also the cost of living is very high. Public transportation fares are
also high, especially for the railways. A public transport pass may cost between £62 and
£157, may vary from city to city. I looked for scholarships in universities and found limited
scholarship being offered.
In United States of America, I have explored websites of several Universities of that include
University of Michigan with Annual fee of approximately USD 24,000 and University of
California with annual fee of approximately USD 16,500 which is very costly for student like
me as (USD 1 = PKR 179). I have searched for entry requirements and found that most of
universities were demanding SAT besides IELTS/PTE and also offering limited scholarships.
I have also considered strict visa rules for international students especially for Muslim
countries with respect to working while studying and many other restrictions. As far as the
safety concerned, USA also has high crime rate as compared to Australia and also has the
highest number of covid-19 patients reported. Additionally, USA falls among the 10 worst
countries for racial equality.
Moreover, I have also searched that many universities in UK and USA are blacklisted and
students were not allowed to complete their desired course and deported to their home
country. On contrary Australia is flexible enough for students to complete their desired course
if university get blacklisted with any other education provider.
Why Australian Education:
Studying in Australia mainly is career benefit, global outlook and provides quality education.
I really want to spend my money in different places where I can get good recognition for my
career prospects and Australian Education has good respect in Pakistan. While studying
abroad, exposure to new cultures and lifestyle definitely brilliances a person and as a student
in a foreign land, the first few days may cause you to feel home-sickness and loneliness, but
rest assured after this initial phase you will transform into an independent and responsible
individual. Australia is the world's 3rd most popular country for education among
international students after USA and UK. Things that attract students is the high quality
education along with the lower tuition fees which makes it a complete package that attracts
students. Australian universities has the wide variety of courses from which students can
chose the type of course that suits them. Moreover, Australia is currently the forefront of new
technologies and innovations where students can take advantage of technology and resources.
Most courses and trainings undertaken by international students in Australia are covered by
Australian Qualification Framework (AQF). As an International student I prefer this option
because it has high quality education in an affordable budget while letting us work for 40
hours fortnightly to earn some money to live the city life. And it will enable me to make
decisions and ward off any expected difficulties during my studies and in future. Sydney,
Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide falls among top 100 cities of the world for student living.
Australia has fundamentally 4 seasons. Its critical climate include is long, warm and dry
summers henceforth demonstrating that Australian and Pakistan climate conditions is similar.
The Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) framework protects the rights of
international students studying in Australia that includes right of correct information about
course fee, mode of study and information about education provider.
Why not any other University in Australia:
Since I wanted to study in Melbourne, I searched for universities which were in Melbourne
and were according to my requirements and study plan. I got the offer letter from Latrobe
University, Swinburne University and Victoria University. I did a comparison among all
these universities and Victoria University was best for me in every aspect, to name a few, its
quality education, its generous scholarship program, its course structure, its teaching
flexibility, the highly experienced teachers and the list goes on. I was lucky enough to be in
the highly selective group to get the generous scholarship by the University. I got the Victoria
University AUD 2500 Early Acceptance Scholarship. The other mentioned
universities did not have a course structure that was as attractive as Victoria University had to
offer. And the number of international students already studying in Victoria University is a
proof that it is best among all these universities with a total of 30,000 students and more than
4000 international students from 140 countries.
Victoria University: More information
Victoria University, which is ranked 236 in the QS World University Rankings in 2021/2022,
and is one of only 13 universities in the world to hold the maximum 5 Stars Plus in the QS
Stars rating of excellence. For more than 100 years, Victoria University (VU) has offered
accessible education to students in Melbourne’s west and beyond. As an international student,
I searched for many universities like Latrobe and Swinburne, but found Victoria University
best among these. The reason I choose Victoria University instead of other universities of
Australia because it fulfills all of my requirements including fees, campus life, course of
contents and curriculum structure. Model of Victoria University provides a very friendly way
of learning and understanding international students as a student has to take a single subject
out of total 8 subjects per month in a whole year. This method allow a student not to go under
study pressure. The university’s flexible approach to learning and teaching supports our
strategic plan that aim to continue creating positive outcomes for education, industry and
community into the future. Victoria University is also renowned for its first-class facilities,
highly experienced tutors, its affordable fees with generous scholarships, its course structures
and the list goes on. As Victoria is a university of service and engagement, they serve and
engage there students through transformative learning and life experiences. While studying in
Victoria University students get a globally respected degree, practical experience, able to get
connected to employers, get a global outlook and much more. Student can easily grab a
public transport and reach the university. There are different ways of learning in this
University like face-to-face interactions in lectures, tutorials, study groups and online
delivery of units. These are the reasons that motivated me to study in Victoria University and
I look forward to getting admission here.

Bachelors of Business scope is great when it comes to connecting you to a business or job
opportunity. It raises your chances to become an entrepreneur. Though I have recently studied
computer sciences, but watching my father run such a great business since childhood, has got
my interest more inclined towards this field. Among other professional degrees, it is one
program that enables one to have enough knowledge about business administration. This
course has been designed specifically for future businessmen. It comprises all the business
administrative skills and enables one to have successful business grip over it.

Understand various leadership styles and demonstrated ability in exercising these styles
according to the requirement of the situation.
It is a professional course, you can practically learn many corporate activities in your class.
Business enterprises is an excellent course for people who are not sure what field of business
interests them because it covers so many areas that they will surely find something they like.
Gains knowledge of business-related decision-making and skill development. So, open the
door to entrepreneurship or help people who dream of becoming businessmen or
businesswomen. The Bachelor of Business Enterprises is a hybrid course that combines the
Bachelor of Commerce and the Bachelor of Management Studies.

Future Plans:
As my father runs a business, so the only purpose to study abroad is to gain excellence in
business field. My dream is to come back and upgrade my father's business and help him
grow it into a bigger and more successful brand. So to pursue this dream, I believe that
obtaining quality education in specifically business field is very important so that I can
combine modern era of business and education together. After my bachelor’s degree I will get
a chance to learn more about culture, people, science, technology and also learn the Business
skills to establish a business start-up, new enterprise, or support business innovation. Apart
from my future plans, it is my responsibility to take care of my parents in their old age. My
father has been working all his life since 1994 and there is every reason for me to support him
and fulfil his dream of making his business top ranked. I strongly believe that a bachelor’s
program will serve as a launch pad for me in achieving my goals. So I might want to seek my
program in Bachelors in Business as a road to sharpen my abilities and to achieve the climax
of my profession. I am assure that I will learn many skills like Strong communication skills
(oral and written), Analytical and critical thinking, Problem solving, Decision making,
Logical and strategic thinking, Presentation and report writing skills and ability to work
collaboratively. These skills are strongly helpful for promoting my father’s business.
Being the responsible son, my parents are my sole responsibility and great source of attraction
for me to return. Being younger son I am very close to my parents and siblings. My only aim
is to complete my course and return to my home country. I have no rational motive to remain
in Australia at the end of my stay. I cannot abandon my culture, norms, language and above
all my career progression here in Pakistan. My parents are very dear to my heart and I cannot
live without them. I have luminous scope and expectations in Pakistan which shows strong
family, financial ties and economic affections towards my home country. As my career plan I
will certainly get back to my home country after completion of my course.
Financial Support:
My family is very excited about my further education in Australia. They are so well assured
that my education in Australia will help me achieve my career goals and future dream.
Therefore, they are more than willing to sponsor all the expenses that will occur while I study
in Australia. As my father is business man, He owns a boutique BEST FASHION NTN No.
2163960-4 since 1994 and by the grace of god he runs two branches impressively and earns
an annually income of PKR 7.4 million. Although my mother is a house wife but she
receives PKR 0.5 million annual rental amount from her mutual property with their brothers
and sisters. My father has a mutual plot with their siblings in Islamabad having worth of PKR
35 million. My mother also has a mutual commercial property with her siblings in
Gujranwala having worth of PKR 300 million. We also have bank balance of PKR 5 million
in MCB Bank Limited for my living, traveling and study expenses. My parents strongly
believe that investment in education never goes waste and quality education has always been
their utmost priority. I, therefore, would like to ensure that my parents are happily willing to
invest in my stay and study in Australia. I want to assure you that my parents are more than
capable of covering my living expenses and tuition fees during my stay at Australia.
Considering my ambition and by knowing that how eager I am to learn and get skills, I am
confident that I am well prepared to meet the requirements of program. I assure the Higher
Authorities that my intensions are only to get degree and I assure you I will respect and
follow the rules and regulations of Australia.
Living Arrangements:
As far my living arrangements are concerned, I searched about accommodation in Australia
on different websites like UNIVERSITYLIVING.COM, STUDENTLIVING.COM,
GUMTREE.AU and many more. Moreover, I have seen many ads of accommodation in
Melbourne in many Facebook groups. It will cost me around 250-350 dollars per week with
all facilities. I checked many accommodations which are at walking distance from Victoria
University.
VISA conditions and Australian Regulations:
While living in Australia it is my foremost duty to abide by all the rules that has been set by
the Australian Government. If a country is giving us an opportunity to get a world class
education so we should also show responsibility and do what is legal and right. Australia has
set some rules for international students which should be followed strictly and me being an
International student feel very responsible and consider it as my foremost duty to follow all
the rules and regulations. The major rules are:
1. As an International student I am allowed to work 40 hours fortnight (14 days)
2. I have to arrange my health insurance before arriving.
3. After arrival in Australia I must inform my tuition providers and give them my
address and contact number.
4. I have to obey all the Australian rules and regulation.
5. I am not allowed to stay any further than the defined time frame. I have to abide by
the time frame and leave as soon as my visa ends.
6. And I have to maintain almost 80% of university attendance.
7. I will not allow to change my course without the approval of department.

8. I will not involve in any kind of illegal activity in Australia.

Immigration History:
If I talk about my immigration history, I do not have any previous visa refusal or cancellation
from any country. None of my family members has any kind of visa refusal or cancellation
from any country.
