Province No.1, Jhapa, Nepal. I was born on 05 June 2002. My nationality is Nepali holding
citizenship No. ______________ and passport No._____________I am the only child of
Mr.________________ and Mrs. _______________. My Father is a ______________. My
family shares a strong bond and I have received all the positive love and support from my
family members.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Going back to my academic history, I completed my Secondary Education Examination (SEE)

from Shree Mahendra Ratna MA VI in the year 2019. Subsequently, I passed my SLC (School
Leaving Certificate) +2 from same college Shree Mahendra Ratna MA VI in the faculty of
management. After graduating from high school, I helped in my father’s business. Gradually I
was also pulled towards the business world and I got very attracted to business from which I got
a passion of doing bachelor in business. So, I decided to pursue my further studies in Australia.

Subsequently, I researched several colleges, universities, and countries select my destination

for further studies. I consulted several consultants to learn about the process and requirements
for overseas studies. I have always considered that studying abroad is far better than studying
in Nepal because the advancement in contemporary education has come a long way to keep
pace with the advancement in science and technology. And it has always been a dream of mine
to achieve success having had global exposures for which my parents too have given me
approval.

GAP CLARIFICATION

???????

WHY NOT IN NEPAL?

It was quite difficult for me to select study destination as it would influence my career. Nepal
is a developing nation where growths in educational fields have just begun. The education
system of Nepal lacks well managed facilities. Among the l many problems in education
system in Nepal includes: lack of practical education and well managed facilities, well-trained
tutors, interactive teaching style giving priority to the traditional methodology of teaching.
Courses are also designed in a theoretical basis rather than practical and the curriculum is
not updated according to the contemporary market status. Similar problems can also be
found in most institutions in India and other Asian countries. Although both Indian and Nepal
do have good colleges and universities providing relevant courses but there are only few of

1
them and it is deliriously difficult to get admission due to tough competition, reservation
systems and limited number of seats.
Also, business studies require realistic knowledge, and advanced practical training which is
given less priority in my native land. I believe in pursuing my further studies in my country
may not be so effective due to lack of research-oriented techniques as per global standards.
So, I finally decided to study in Australia as I am very much impressed by Australian education
system and its world-class universities that provide the student with a wide choice of courses
to be proficient in their respective field. So, after having genuine discussion with my family,
relatives, and intense internet research, my mind came up with the fact that comparatively
Australia would be a better place for me to complete my studies.

Furthermore, Nepal is a developing country and the education we get here is not globally
accepted and recognized due to the lack of globally recognized universities and colleges.
Because of unsystematic education system there is untimely conduction of examination,
delayed result publishing, lack of completion of courses due to which students are not able to
get proper education and seats in examination hall. Moreover, Nepalese Colleges lack
updated courses and practical skills as per the requirement as per the international
standards. Even though I researched about some well-known colleges and universities of
Nepal and came through Global college of management, Apex college, Amity college,
Tribhuvan University, and Kathmandu University which provide degree of BBS and BBA.
However, they mainly focus on theoretical education rather than practical. We know that
theoretical knowledge is half knowledge which means Nepalese education system does not
provide complete education to the students. So, I finally decided to step up and get a degree
from international education provider.
REASON TO CHOOSE AUSTRALIA OVER OTHER COUNTRIES

Having decided to study abroad I did a lot of research about international educations in
various countries. I went to several educational fairs, talked to relatives and friends living in
several countries and discussed with the consultant about the best place to be and study all
over the world such as the following:
USA: It is one of the most popular destinations for higher education with the most advanced
technology and one of the best universities in the world. But as I come to know that weapons
are legalized in USA and the crime rate is higher than other countries I have selected, I was
sure this country is not the one I am looking for.
UK: The education system of UK is one of the best in the world but compared to other
countries the cost of living and tuition fee is comparatively higher. Not only that as compared
to Australia the security of international student in UK is doubtful. So, as a daughter the
priority of my family is security.
Canada: It has also got the finest education system in the world but the only reason for not
choosing Canada is its harsh climate condition which falls from -5 and -15 degree Celsius and
rarely below -20 and -30 degrees Celsius. So, it is snowy in winter. As I am from the hotter part
of Nepal, so I believe it will be extremely difficult for me to adjust in the extreme low
temperature and, I believe I won’t be productive on those cold months. This is the reason why
Canada was out of my list.
Other European and Asian Countries: most of the European countries such as (France, Italy,

2
Germany, and so on) and Asian countries like (Japan, China) has their own language so I must
learn their native language. As I am comfortable with English language as all my courses were
in English, I felt learning a new language will take time and will be challenging.

After having extensive research, I chose Australia as my destination as it consists of more than
50 thousand Nepalese students. Not only that 5 out of best 30 cities in the world based on
cost of living, facilities, education, and quality of life lies in Australia so I couldn’t think of any
other place than Australia as my final study destination. It also consists of 6 universities which
are in the top 100 universities list of the world and the courses offered here are recognized
globally. The science and technology field are also advanced here, and we can see major
companies like Atlassian, after pay, Telstra and many more which provides tons of internships
and job opportunities to get expose to the market.

Moreover, I came to know that we just need to study 4 units in a semester so that we only
need to go to the university for 2-3 days and rest of the time we can do self-learning or get
engaged to the internship programs. Not only that there are several organizations for
protecting the working rights of the students, making sure they are safe, also there is help for
gamblers, response to incident, mental health, and suicide prevention organization and so on.
Not only that Australia also has Tuition protection act which makes sure that if any education
provider is unable to deliver courses, then they should be transferred to another university or
should get a full refund. The ESOS act of 2000 governs the fundamental rights of the
international students which allows them to get accurate information about course structure,
cost, method of study and so on.

REASON FOR CHOOSING CANTERBURY INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT (CIM)

are present in Australia that offers 22000 course varieties. Though there are many education
institutions in Darwin, I did research about different colleges and universities where I found
