STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Name: - Dharviben Hasmukhbhai Chudhari

University: Griffith University

Course: Master of Business

Introduction

My name is Dharviben Hasamukhbhai Chaudhari. I was born in Mehsana and brought up in Mehsana,
Gujarat India. I belong to a nuclear family. My Father Mr. Hasmukhbhai Veljibhai Chaudhari is no more.
My mother Mrs. Jayaben Hasmukhbhai Chaudhari is a teacher. My younger brother is running his own
business. I was married earlier but am now divorced and I have a baby girl who is 4-year-old. She won’t
be accompanying me for my Study Abroad my family will be taking care of her when I will go to Australia
for my studies. My Mother and my brother are going to sponsor my Study and Living expense in
Australia.

Education Background

I had completed my SSC (Secondary School Certificate) in March 2007 & I secured 61.54 % from Gujarat
Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. After the completion of my H.S.C with 68.29 % in
2009 from Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. After that I have completed my
Bachelor of Arts from Hemchandra Acharya North Gujarat University in June 2014 with 7.03 CGPA. out
of 10 CGPA. After completion of my bachelor’s degree, I started to study Master in Arts and successfully
completed the same from Hemchandra Acharya North Gujarat University with 5.75 CGPA out of 10
CGPA in the year of 2018.

Work Experience
After my master’s degree I started exploring the job market and after subsequent interview I got
selected and I started working with “Visual Computers” as a “Supervisor” from 1st September 2018 to
Till Date. (Work experience attached my job description was to Maintain database of maintenance and
repair records of Computers Software & Hardware, oversee shop inventory; orders parts required for
Computer repairs, shop supplies, and equipment etc. During this period, I have learnt lot of new things
and experienced things which can truly be gained when you have hands down experience as no matter
what they teach you at university certain things can be learnt practically only. This motto took root in my
head and led me to believe that what if i were to study in an International Institute and gain
international exposure as well which would enhance my overall development as well as my academic
one and so i started doing research about the same which led me to finalizing the course and university
along with the country after a detailed analysis.

During the last year the circumstances haven’t been very favorable for anyone in the world, what with
Covid – 19 hitting us so hard. Lot of people and industries were hit hard due to it. Luckily for us as lot of
people were working from home so our business wasn’t affected a lot for us it was work as usual as lot
of people became adaptable with the circumstances and we started working from home and had virtual
meetings with clients and so the requirement and usage of Computers increased. However, this whole
situation led me to thinking that life can be very unpredictable and that one should work hard and fast
towards their goals and try and achieve them as you don’t know what is going to happen the very next
second. I don’t want to waste a second or a minute of my time which I can use to achieve my goal so I
discussed my goals with my mother and brother and they all were very supportive about it. I was
apprehensive about leaving my child here to pursue my higher studies, but my mother and brother have
been very supportive and have taken the responsibility of taking care of her, as I envision a better future
for us. Hence i attended few online virtual education fairs and met few universities as well. From which I
shortlisted few Universities and started my process. As I have completed my study from a Section 1
university and as Griffith doesn’t require me to seat for and English Language Test, I have provided my
Medium of Instruction to the University for the same.

Why Not in India?

The first and foremost reason of studying abroad is the ever-increasing competition in the education
sector in India. Students who are scoring high are not getting seats in their college of choice in India.
There is an unnecessary pressure and burden of clearing entrance exams to get admission in master’s
degree, even after getting a very good percentage in their bachelor’s degree. Some study so hard yet are
still unable to clear the entrance exams. Reservation policies are further deteriorating the education
system in India. Students are ready to compete, but when a seat is given to a student just based on
reservation then it hurts. Reservation system is further increasing the competition in the general
category. Apart from that there are many average universities in India where I can get admission but
then indeed to compromise on the degree value, studies and faculties, course curriculum and structure
as they are not updated as per the current industrial demand and also the infrastructure facilities are
not updated and adequate. Besides the total tuition fee is no less it starts from Rs.8‐10 lacs taking up to
Rs. 15‐18 lacks at reputed institutes like Amity University, IIM, IIFT, S.P. Jain Institute of Management
etc.

It is ironical that a fast-developing country like India should have an education system that desires a lot
of improvement and attention. As a result of which, thousands of capable Indian students – like me –
decide to leave our homeland in pursuit of better experiences in the realm of higher education. There
are more than a handful of gaping holes in the Indian education model that need urgent repair and
makeover. For starters, the curriculum design of most graduate programs begs for revision and updation
but the authorities do not take any action to make it happen. Due to this lethargy, students have to
make do with studying subjects and topics that may have become irrelevant or obsolete. For me, the
biggest put-off in the Indian education system is the heavy reliance on theory-based learning. The
textbooks are still treated as the whole and sole of a course. Focus on practical knowledge and skills
transfer is a bare minimum. It is one of the main reasons why most Indian students do not feel confident
about chasing better career opportunities after graduation. I do not want to succumb to such a fate, and
that’s why I decided that going abroad for higher studies is the safest and most productive way forward
for me.
Why Not Study in Other Foreign Country?

While planning abroad, I had many options, but I preferred Australia compared to other countries
because of various reasons. In USA, I found that new visa policies are not favoring international students
while there is huge mass from my country towards, who are not getting post study opportunities and
returning back. The US do not encourage international students to pursue part-time work opportunities.
The restrictions put a dent on students’ expectations who want to juggle between study and work so
that they are perfectly industry-ready and professionally confident by the time they graduate. Also, the
spike in tuition fees combined with the oscillatory currency exchange rate makes it very difficult for most
Indian families to afford higher education in the US and UK. Having said that I do not mean to imply that
higher education is cheap. Lastly, the volatility that surrounds the economy and politics of the US and UK
can potentially endanger my study pursuits should an untoward incident occur in these countries, and
prompt them to act against the interests of international students. Canada resulting into slow of
Admission due to massive applications& Visa Process which results in delay in admission, choice of
desired course and college and increased numbers of decline which is in my concern. Whereas NZ is not
a country where international students can get explore because they lack big Industries and I found this
country to be good for other stream students but not for Mechanical, Automobile and manufacturing
industries. Moreover, they might not develop manufacturing industry which can disturb their highly
maintained environment. In consideration of Germany the admission attracts with free education but
there compulsorily I have to learn German language for at least six to twelve months

The culture of Australia is most often conducive to the learning and enjoyment of young people, such as

international students to study in their universities and for that purpose they have ESOS Act to protect

the education fairs here in India and I have met many of them which helped me to decide and choose
Australia. Even its university system is highly ranked due to rigorous surveillance of its government
under the Australian Qualifications Framework for its courses. Its degrees are recognized all‐round the
globe and especially have much value among Indian market as well. Apart from education, Australia’s
lifestyle is among the top quality one at a reasonable cost and in the safest country list. Australia is

aspects of education standards and future job opportunities upon returning to my home country India,
I found Australia most beneficial. Australia is one of the world’s most favorite destinations for students
seeking top class education. Dynamic and progressive education program with reputation for

unavoidable features of Australia. Australia is well known for quality education and students who study

provide wide range of courses to international students. The teaching methodology is both the blend

international outlook while simultaneously strengthening my professional abilities. I am especially
eager to become acquainted with different design styles and techniques. By collaborating with
students and instructors from diverse backgrounds, I will be exposed to a wide range of ideas and
styles; this will be extremely valuable for my future career. Australia has become third largest country
for number of international students, to achieve this. The Government of Australia has put in all the
hard work like providing scholarships, protecting international student’s right through ESOS code
system and education through CRICOS code, maintaining the safe environment and that has given
them a multi‐cultural public. Australia’s eight universities are placed in the top world university list.
Universities courses and syllabus are industrial based in Australia. Australian Universities feature in top

in the Universities 2012 U21 Ranking of National Higher Education Systems offering over 22,000
courses across 1,100 institutions. Australian universities are widely known for the quality of their
teaching. The qualifications are included under one national system ‐ Australian Qualifications
Framework (AQF). It is becoming one of the most preferred destinations for international students
because of the new student visa rules That have come into play due to which only genuine students
will be given preference of a visa grant. This would ensure that the education quality is maintained, and
only genuine students will get visa. Also, the highly cultured & well‐educated people are the strength
of Australia. The high standard of living & affordable accommodation is one of the reasons to choose
Australia for higher education. I perceive that learning In Australia will provide me a solid framework
for achieving professional responsibility, proficiency, and lifetime career development on my return to
India.

congenial faculties at the Griffith University has fascinated me. Moreover, I found the curriculum and
background of the prestigious university more compelling and suitable while I was going through the
official websites.

Griffith ranks highly as a young university, ranking 33rd in the 2021 QS World University Rankings Top 50
under 50 world university rankings. In 2021, Griffith has been included for the first time in the Times

Griffith University is known for its quality of education and strong research areas. Over 200 degrees are
on offer for students; they also benefit from strong industry ties shared by the  University. During my
research towards university, I got to know that Griffith offers an immense series of specialized growth

industry instances with a strong practical focused teaching. Griffith is globally connected, and their

Apart from this, I got complete detail about the university, my program, faculties and also about the
extensive international student support Griffith connects the students with support and growth services,
programs and resources. Griffith offers international students a variety of supportive services. On the
campus itself counsellor team provides helpful tools, policies and viewpoints on student’s issues related
to studies, relationships, home sickness and lot more. Students find solutions to problems, and it helps
them improving their study period. Mentors also guide students on making the assignments, tips to
improve the grades and cop up with the ongoing studies. I am really feeling relaxed looking at the
extensive support system of Griffith through which I am anticipating a smoother education journey
during my two years of stay in Australia. Griffith also offers scholarships for the international students.
There is a range of scholarship which all are offered by Griffith which I can apply as per the eligibility
criteria.

I also found the same course is available in RMIT university, Curtin and CQU and University of
Queensland, however I wasn’t very impressed by the course curriculum and i found the fees in few of
them very high. and hence I selected Griffith. My research says the comparison will be beneficial
between a Go8 and non Go8 for those who are planning to pursue their career in Australia. Also, Fee
structure for group of 8 Universities like UWA or University of Adelaide is around 40- 44 lacs AUD per
annum. For me, the international qualification itself is enough in the Indian industries so I didn’t choose
to spend more money behind my tuition fees that too without compromising the learning outcome and
overall work raking which Griffith carries.
Also coming from a town like Ahmedabad which being a metro city still isn’t as crowded like other cities
i feel that Queensland will hold the same kind of charm for me especially Nathan.

Why Choose Master of Business?

The Master of Business is regarded as the premier business qualification for practicing managers and
leaders in contemporary organizations. I have applied for Master of Business International Business due
to my exposure to the Business world that I am having since I started working from 2018. I strongly feel
that this course will get me and extra edge when I come back to my home country due to the
International Degree that I will gain and plus the exposure which will broaden my horizons and
perspective. Also, as per my research on the university website Griffith is in partnership with the
Institute of Managers and Leaders Australia and New Zealand (IML ANZ) which will allow graduates like
me to be awarded with the internationally recognized professional designation immediately after
graduation. Accrediting management and leadership excellence, Chartered Manager will help me to gain
global recognition, professionalize leadership skills, and will increase my employability and help me
differentiate from other managers. Successful completion of this course will equip me with the requisite
knowledge and skills that provide opportunities for career advancement. Upon completion, I will be
better equipped to develop and successfully implement strategies designed to advance business and
organizational opportunities. Through interaction with academic, colleagues and various members of
the business community, I will gain differing perspectives and approaches to current and emerging
business issues. It will develop my skills and knowledge in a broad range of management and leadership
responsibilities, in areas such as strategy, marketing, people management, operations management,
finance and change management. Master of Business will provide me with specialist management
education and training to operate as a manager in both the domestic and international sphere.

Future Career Plans

After the completion of my Course, I am planning to come back to my home country. I feel that after
completing this degree I would be able to deal with business challenges, difficulties, and inevitable
problems in trades. Being foreign degree holder, I will have better communication skills to cope with
real-world business sustainability problems. A recent GMAC survey of top recruiting companies found
that although the proportion of recruiters planning to hire MBA graduates fell from 92 percent pre-
pandemic to 77 percent in the middle of 2020, it is projected to grow to 89 percent in 2021, a figure
higher than even 2019. It would be fair to assume that hiring trends will continue to become better
beyond 2021.  Indian Companies hire graduates from foreign universities. It also shows that they higher
most of employees from management disciplines. In future this ratio will go up and there would not be
any hurdle to get job in my homeland.  Australia, as a study abroad destination is rather famous for the
ease of doing just that. The constant demand for skilled workforce in the continent country has boosted
the education sector, which continues to attract and sustain international students and assimilate them
within the country’s industry.

Once back in India I will be prepared to use your extensive business skills in increasingly diverse settings
including not-for-profit, government and corporate organizations. I can find opportunities as, Business
Assistant Executive, Financial Analyst, Project Executive, Management Executive in top MNCS like TATA,
Reliance, Delliote, Adani Group, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, ABB, Siemens where in the average salary
package I am looking forward to is between 7 to 8 lakhs per annum which is definitely worth the
investment I would have made while pursuing my degree. Many multinational companies and foreign
companies have invested many projects in India, and they attract many freshers in their projects
especially who have completed their education from globally recognized university. Finding jobs are not
easy but having Australian degree and global experience will definitely help me cracking job interviews
in India.
There are many ways to get job in India. Online portal and local placement agencies are one of the best
ways to look for the jobs. There are number of local placement agencies that can help us get the good
job. There are many job portals like currently. In India there are MNC’s that need people who are well
equipped and has knowledge about how the international business works. Industries such as Reliance
Industries, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Amul, Godrej, Zydus Group needs people who understands and
can help them in their brand management. Also, India is a developing country and by pursuing this
course I would be able to help any Indian company who wishes to expand their boundaries overseas via
Business Analyst, Business Development Manager, Jr. Global Business Manager, International Business
Development Manager and much more. The main benefit of studying in overseas country is meeting
different nationalities and learning about their culture. University also provides globally recognized
degree which will help me getting opportunities worldwide.
So, by the time I return to India there will be endless opportunities. India has been ranked in the 5
Fastest Growing Economies in The World by NASDAQ. India, the world’s third largest economy in terms
of purchasing power parity and seventh largest in terms of nominal GDP, is also the only trillion-dollar
economy to be in the top five. I will learn about world cultures and societies and be challenged to
approach issues from different perspectives. These skills are increasingly valuable to employers faced
with the challenge of opening and integrating multiple markets and achieving cohesion and collegiality
in increasingly diverse workforces.

In a nutshell, students need to develop a global mind-set in order to be successful in business. Studying
international business allows me to see how globalization has brought about an increasing
'connectedness' of businesses, markets, people and information across countries. Hence, there is a
growing need for business and management graduates with an international perspective, who are
capable of operating effectively in a globalized world. This concerns not only senior managers, but
employees at all levels that must interact with international customers and suppliers, partners, or
international colleagues and after my completion of master’s degree I will have this skill. So hence if I
were to continue here in my present designation, I will only get 25% hike in the salary wherein I can
expect salary package of not more than 4-5 lacs per annum, but with the international degree and 2
years of global exposure I will definitely have an edge over the others which according to me is a great
return on investment.
Incentives to return to India:
After the completion of my course, I most definitely be coming back to my home country, As I
mentioned earlier, I am not bringing my child with me so that Is my most important reason to come
back to India. I am only interested to gain an International Degree and the experience and exposure I
will gain due to it. Plus, my mother and my entire family is here. Being a single mother, I have many
responsibilities towards my child and mother as well. I have lot of social responsibilities towards my
family too. My family has a very strong social and economic standing in our community and my Mother
is a very active part of it and she expects me to take over once he retires. Plus, my mother & Brother
have many properties and investment which will be taken care of by me and brother . My parents have
Savings, Agricultural Land and property worth approx. INR 5.85 Crore. Plus I too have my own
investment and properties to take care worth approx. INR 2.94 Crore. All this has to be taken care by
me as I can’t expect my wife or father to do so. I have many social and economical responsibilities to
take care in my home country, but above all my major and most important reason is my wife and my
child I would want to come back as soon as my course gets over as I want to be reunited with my family
soon.

Visa Subclass 500

I am aware of about the conditions of student visa, and I will abide by the same.

• I have to maintain at least 80% attendance & score 50% pass grade throughout the study program.

• I cannot work more than 40 hours a fortnight.

• I have to maintain OSHC for the course duration.

•I cannot change the course provider & also cannot change visa Subclass within 6 months.

•I must inform about any changes in address & contact details to the university & DHA within 7 Days.

I will strictly follow these conditions as my main objective is to study and get a degree with good scores
in my intended program.
Conclusion

I’m confident that about my capability of acquiring the knowledge and skills. As an international student,
I’m committed to my studies and wanted to enhance my knowledge. This international degree is very
essential for my career growth and hence I want to be the part of the university.

Yours Sincerely,

Dharviben Hasmukhbhai Chaudhari
