Statement of Purpose

Respected Sir/Madam

This Statement of Purpose (SOP) for my Visa Subclass-500 application is a pleasant

experience for me to introduce myself. I considered this SOP to have genuine truth about
myself, my academic background, my intention to study abroad and not Nepal, and my
future with great intention to return to my home country to put forth what I have learned
during my abroad study. The main reason for writing this SOP is to pursue my UG Degree
(Bachelor of Information Technology) from the prestigious Wentworth Institute of
Higher Education.

Introduction

I, Utsav Thapaliya (Passport No. 12379075) introduce myself as energetic, and

enthusiastic, with a keen interest in technology and innovations and always seeking to
acquire new knowledge. I was born on September 22 nd, 1999 A.D to Mrs. Kalpana Thapaliya
& Mr. Yam Prasad Thapaliya, and a permanent resident of Siddhalek-06, Dhading, Nepal.

Further introducing myself, since my childhood, I’ve been a very enthusiastic person as
regards technology, and innovations and always wanted to pursue my career in the field of
computing and information technology. As a fact, my parents are also very supportive
regarding my education career that’s why I have been working towards better
advancement of my future and decided to pursue my Undergraduate Degree from
Australia. My father, who is retired Nepalese Army, and is a great inspiration for me. His
major field during his tenure was working as a communication and Network Technician
which leads me to pursue higher education in the field of technology.

Academic Background

Completing my School Leaving Certificate (SLC) i.e. 10 th from Bright Future English
Boarding School Benighat, Dhading with a score of 66.25% [2015 AD], I joined DCOM
(Diploma in Computer Engineering) course which is a 3-years-long course in 2015. The
reason behind choosing the Diploma over +2 was due to the high potential of increasing
skills in the field of computing and as I was always fond of computers and technology. I
chose Oxford Advanced Engineering College Kalanki, Kathmandu affiliated with the reputed
Council for Technical And Vocational Education (CTEVT) in 2015, and completed in
2019 AD with 68%.
The course was primarily focused on computer hardware, fundamentals of programming,
database management, networking, and various information about the computer. Although
it was a 3-year-long course [2015-2018], due to backlogs, I completed that course in 2019
AD. Besides, most of the computer courses like Engineering, BCA, & BIT comprise non-
computer units too. In the case of DCOM, subjects like science and electrical engineering
don’t fall under the favorites of a student whose keen interest is in computer topics only,
without having to worry about chemical reactions and the law of physics.

Work Experience with Gap Justifications and COVID-19 Impact

Studying as a Diploma in Computer Engineering mostly focused on practical and skill

programs, and after completing the course, it helps students to prepare for jobs. As my
course was job focused, initially after giving my final exam (6 th Semester) I then started my
first job at Top Nepal International Pvt. Ltd an ISO 9001:2015 (QMS) Certified Company
(https://topnepal.com.np/) where I worked from January 2019 to 2020 February under
the post of Content Writer. The obvious reason behind quitting the job was the COVID
pandemic outbreak in 2019. After the outbreak, the pandemic directly affected me and my
family which made me more difficult to continue my job, and also fearing the pandemic
leads to quitting my job.

The whole world witnessed the pandemic and thus many people became jobless
including me. The situation became worse, then Nepal witnessed a country-wide
lockdown from 24th March 2020 till 14th June 2020. After that in September 2020, I
rejoined a new job at IT Genie Pvt. Ltd (https://np.linkedin.com/in/purushottam-
khanal-b29162136) at apposition of Computer Support Specialist. I worked till March
2022 as I decided to pursue higher education from overseas and it’s almost impossible to
continue job and prepare for documentation as the same time. As having work experience
in the field of computers, I decided to obtain a bachelor’s degree from abroad to further
advance my career. As, learning is a never-ending process, I thought I must acquire a
degree that is globally challenging and acceptable.

It’s not that, I didn’t want to continue my education journey after my diploma and job, but
COVID stuck and the crisis made it difficult to join any universities or colleges. As a whole
world witnessed the unforgettable imprints of the pandemic on the global community.
According to UNESCO global education coalition, the COVID-19 pandemic affected more
than 1.5 billion student’s population globally causing one of the largest disruptions in the
history of formal education, (https://en.unesco.org/covid19/educationresponse/global
coalition).

The COVID-19 virus created unfamiliar times all around the globe. As the Nepal
government announced a second lockdown on 29th April 2021 where I could not join any
English Proficiency Courses like IELTS/PTE physical class due to the effect of COVID-19 as
all the educational consultancies were closed at that time. So, I continued doing my job.
After the Corona Virus situation in my home country became normal, I decided to pursue
my ambition of studying aboard and did some research regarding studying abroad. Also, at
the same time, the Australian government officially opened its borders for international
students in December 2021. After then, I got the opportunity to apply for my higher
academic procedure.

Language Test:

After planning to study abroad, I must score a good band on English proficiency tests
(IELTS or TOFEL, or PTE) to qualify for universities and colleges. Initially, after the
Australian government opened the border, I started learning English Proficiency Language
class and I decided to take the test Pearson Test of English (PTE) from British Council on
April 7th, 2022. However, I managed to secure 57 overall bands with 52 in listening, 61 in
reading, 62 in speaking, and 56 in writing, and became eligible to apply for the preferred
course by having my language proficiency.

Family Background and Financial Support

The family are the one who supports us in every step of life and they are a great inspiration
to achieve success in life for everyone. My family members are also very supportive and are
very concerned regarding my education career. They help me out financially, emotionally,
and socially at every turn in my life. My parents are a major source of inspiration for me
since they taught in me the belief that education is major factor for success in life. They
taught the values and discipline of endurance, hard work, dedication, and respect for
others. As I already mention my father is a retired Nepalese Army and he is very sensitive
regarding discipline, moral values, and intimacy for the nation. He has always supported
me toward my better future and one day I will make him a proud father too.

My father and grandmother are financial sponsors for my tuition fees, accommodation, and
insurance costs while studying and staying in Australia. My father, Mr. Yam Prasad
Thapaliya earns an annual income of NRs. 1,857,142.83(equivalent to AUD 21,044.14)
from own business (Bedanta Kirana Stores) as per the audit report and he receives
NRs.231,396.00 (equivalent to AUD 2,622.05) from pension (Nepalese Army) as per his
salary certificate. In total, he earns an annual income of NRs. 2,088,538.83 (equivalent to
AUD 24,069.82) from business and his pension as per the audit report and bank

Reason for not choosing home country Nepal & Research in education
provider of Nepal

Undoubtedly, everyone wants to receive a degree from a certified and reputed

University/College. But being a citizen of a developing country, Nepal where it somehow
lacks to provide quality education and it is nearly impossible to compare education with
developed countries. Which is why I felt the need to choose the right destination for my
better future and for the better future of my country.

I did research and surveys on my home country regarding my higher education. As a citizen
of Nepal, my foremost priority would be my home country where universities like;
Kathmandu University (https://ku.edu.np/), Tribhuvan University (https://tribhuvan-
university.edu.np/), Pokhara University (https://pu.edu.np/), Purbanchal University
(https://www.puexam.edu.np/), etc. and additionally, some colleges and universities I
have gone through my research such as:

 Advanced College of Engineering and Management (https://acem.edu.np/),

 Birendra Multiple Campus (https://bmc.edu.np/),
 Shree Siddhanath Science Campus (https://edusanjal.com/college/siddhanath-
science-campus/),
 Amrit Science College(https://edusanjal.com/college/amrit-science-campus/ )
 Trinity International College (https://www.trinity.edu.np/)
These colleges deliver a similar Bachelor's degree program; yet, there are some major facts
that the education system in these colleges and universities is not compatible for me to
pursue higher education, some clear reasons were:

 The education system in these colleges is too rigid as compared to the international

education system. (Syllabus hasn’t been updated to the latest version)
 As far as I know the education system of the colleges and University in Nepal are
very traditional because the study system emphasizes theory-based classes rather
than practical experience.
 Professional, practical, and useful courses are still outdated in those colleges and
Universities in my home country.
 Due to lack of flexibility and feasibility of courses offered by the institutions in my
home country for a bachelor’s degree. Courses are outdated and are less effective in
the rapidly growing technology sector.
 All the IT course in Nepal is a 4-year program, whereas it can be completed within 3
years in developed countries. I will be able to start my professional career relatively
faster compared to the education in Nepal.
 Management of Nepalese Universities/Colleges is too weak to delay delivery of
courses, exam schedules, and publication results, creating confusion in universities
with outdated teaching methods: unable to produce graduates to meet the needs of
the current Nepalese market.

Additionally, Nepal still lacks political stability and makes it more complicated to continue
my study. If the course I wanted is available in my home country, then also I am not ready
to study here as I have witnessed the education system of Nepal. Sometimes it took 4 years
of a bachelor’s degree to complete more than 5 years - 6 years due to political problems
and as well as unfavorable situations of College/University.

After studying in my home country for more than a decade, I don’t want to say that the
education system is completely defective but studying and experiencing much time in
Nepal leads to demotivate to study here. The field of IT is dynamic and having practical-
based education with an international relevance degree is essential. However, in the
context of Nepal, all the practical, professional, and productive courses are still limited and
outdated. The education system in Nepal is unfriendly to graduates; the curriculum does
not keep students updated with the speed at which technology is evolving and I have to
avoid my degree in my hand without having any value. The Lack of a preferred course
provider and an updated curriculum, an unpredictable academic calendar, and very
weak government education policies lead students to choose international colleges and
universities as their study locations.

Though the colleges here in Nepal are cheaper but the degree obtained here will not allow
me international exposure and the degree obtained from Australia as compared to Nepal is
accepted globally and is very highly acknowledged. On the other hand, the education
system of Nepal is not as qualitative as that in other countries. Therefore, I intended to
study abroad for my UG degree where I can learn practical-based knowledge and help me
to cope with different hard situations throughout my life.

Conclusively, the overall reason not to study in Nepal is due to the above-mentioned reason
such as less practical education, having 4 years of bachelor’s (3 years in Australia), its
incompetent education system, and unskillful education that doesn’t make me global
competent and skillful.

Why not-prioritize other developed countries?

Being insightful, I thoroughly researched and surveys on several official websites and
videos of multiple colleges and universities from several countries that I was considering,
including the availability of courses, tuition fees, living costs, etc. I go through websites like
https:// www.idp.com/nepal/study-abroad-destinations/,
https://studyabroad.shiksha.com/, http
s://www.usnews.com/news/bestcountries/rankings?, and many others. I went through
the countries having top-ranking universities like USA, UK, and Canada, and I kept several
factors into consideration for them.

USA: Despite having prestigious education providers, and being considered as the land of
opportunities, unfortunately, I found tuition fees and living expenses here are top-notched
compared to Australian Universities and Colleges. University and colleges in the USA
require lengthy tests like SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), ACT (American College Test), etc
whereas Australia only needs tests like IELTS and PTE which take comparatively less time

1 Upper Lowa University 31052.36 45177.07
2 NYACK College 27,000 39278.44

United Kingdom (UK): Unlike the USA, the UK is also considered one of the best academic
destinations for students around the world. However, the cost of tuition fees and living
costs is comparatively more expensive than in Australia. Also, students who are in UK are
facing lots of problems in terms of career outcomes, security and the facilities provided by
the UK government lacks in comparison with the Australian government. More detailed
reviews can be extracted from websites like https://www.topuniversities.com/university-
rankings-articles/world-university-rankings/. Moreover, tuition fees of
universities/colleges like Oxford Brook University (£ 15200),

Canada: Canada is one of the best countries for international students. Though Canada is
also considered the best education provider globally but the weather condition is
completely harsh & unfamiliar for me i.e. extremely cold and heavy snowfall. This website
makes clear about weather conditions https://www.climatestotravel.com/climate/canada.
In addition, unlike Australia, the processing time and finding a quota for the nearest intake
is too hard which makes the process very lengthy and might take more than 6 months for
the visa decisions which is so stressful. Which is why choosing Australia seems best for me.

Japan: I can choose Japan for my higher education but due to its very tough language
(Japanese Language) which is completely different from my language, and culture it’s been
a barrier for me. Besides, we must get enrolled in language school before joining
college/universities.

I researched not only America, Canada, the UK, and Japan but I also went through Korean,
Chinese, and European Universities which required me to learn their native languages
which leads to losing more years. As for having English as a second language, it is defiantly
easy to go through those counties whose native language is English. So, evaluating all the
above circumstances, while comparing admission fees, student preference rates, climatic
conditions, and reliable sources, among Australia, Canada, the UK, the USA, and European
countries, I choose Australia as my study destination.

Why I choose Australia for my Higher Education?

After having a mindset to get an international degree for my higher education, I have to
choose the best destination country where I could get quality and skilled education,
affordable tuition fee, living costs, etc. Being a guy from a country like Nepal, my
expectation from other countries was to have a practical as well as international level
education degree where I can compete globally. Also, I looking for a country where I can
find similar climatic conditions as my home country. Considering all of these requirements,
I find Australia will be a better option for me to pursue my higher education.

Thoroughly researching the Australian education system from several governmental

website portals like https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/,
https://www.studyaustralia.gov.au/ english/discover-australia I got to know that Australia
remains one of the most favorite destinations among international student. Further
researching, I got to know about the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses
for Overseas Students (CRICOS), and the Tertiary Education Quality, and Standards Agency
(TEQSA). These national regulatory bodies assure the quality and regulate the higher
education program standards provided by the education institution.

With the availability of vast major of courses (over 1,100 institutions and 22,000 courses)
along with required resources makes Australia one of the best place to undergo education.
There are several amazing factor that makes Australia best place to obtain an international
degree. Unlike Nepal, the UG degree can be completed within 3 years. With the national
policy guide for regulated qualifications in the Australian education system, the Australian
Qualification Framework(AQF) provides integrated policies to facilitate pathways to, and
through, formal qualifications (https:// www.aqf.edu.au/). Along with these frameworks,
Australia facilitates Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) act which consists of
TPS (Tuition Protection Service) which definitely helps international students to feel free
from any fraud conditions (https://www.studyaustralia.gov.au/english/study/education-
system/esos-act ).

The report surveyed by Study Australia from onshore international student of 2020-21
found 8 out of 10 international students currently studying in Australia intend to complete
their studies.

“Despite the uncertain, restrictive and drastically changing study and living
experience for international students currently in Australia, the students remain generally
positive, says Head of Austrade's International Education Centre of Excellence, Melissa
Banks.” (https://www.studyaustralia.gov.au/english/study/education-system/esos-act )

This kind of report made me feel like “finding god while searching for stone” and increased
my willingness to study here. Even my parents and relatives consulted me to study in
Australia as it provides high-class education services to students at very affordable cost
whereas USA, UK and other countries are on farthest side. Though I love my country, with
having different cultures, traditions, and mutual bonding between people are unforgotten, I
want to explore a similar country i.e. Australia, having multi-ethnicity, multi-cultures,
natural wonders, and unique animals being an obvious reason to attract me toward here.

Australia is among those countries that welcome eligible students from different cultures,
ethnicity, and races around the globe which is fascinating to me. So being an average
student and eligible to study in Australia definitely helps me improve my willpower and
academic as well as personal career. So, I choose to pursue my education career from
Australia.

Reasons for Choosing Information Technology

Having interest on computers and technology since childhood led to study 3-year-long
Diploma course in Computer Engineering in my home country Nepal. Also, after working in
an IT company for more than two years, experiencing newer technology and getting a
Diploma in computer engineering, I realized I have to pursue my career in the field of IT.
Since I liked staying in front of computers and always being updated on newer
technologies, I always give priority for studying about computers and Information
Technology the first priority. Now I know what exactly should to do for my career and that,
i.e. to pursue my further studies in IT.

Studying information technology has relevance in all aspects of how we build our corporate
empires and operate in the modern world. To address a variety of professional needs, the
majority of business organizations use a wide range of technologies and software. Similar
to this, companies use business information system experts to do tasks. Thus, the
information system is crucial to the success of the company and hence to the nation's
economy.

Today, in this technological era, the demand for technology and innovation is increasing
day by day. So, to fulfil the demand of society and for the developments of my own country
like Nepal needs lot of skilled manpower. So for that and for my own career development, I
really want to pursue my career in Information Technology. Through these experiences,
learning exposures and my dire motivation in this field, I have realized that it is completely
dependent on academic growth for the development of career building and this program
perfectly suits my study interests.

After graduating in Information Technology, I will have the ability to analyze the complex
program related to technology and try to find out the best solution. As an IT professional, I
will engage in developing the business protocols and processes such as databases, backup
systems, and computer systems. With having a bachelor’s IT degree as well as skilled
knowledge I could apply all that knowledge to the development of my own country. I
believed after getting bachelor’s degree I’ll have knowledge on several complex computing
systems, networking, software development, etc before I return my home country.

Why I choose Wentworth Institute and why not other UNI/colleges?

Finding a suitable educational institution which is internationally recognized to undertake

my undergraduate study was sure a difficult task for me. My curiosity and research from
internet brought me across numerous educational institutions and colleges that offers
Bachelors Of Information Technology, such as the Melbourne Institute of Technology
(MIT), The University of Sydney, The University of New South Wales, Wentworth Institute,
King's Own Institute, etc., but among all of them, Wentworth Institute of Higher
Education caught my attention due to its competitive tuition rates (AUD 52,400 for 3
years), preferred location (Sydney), and reputation maintained by this academic
institution. After spending several time researching for my academic I then concluded
Wentworth Institute would be the perfect college to for my subject due to its student
supportive environment, modern study environment, flexible and updated courses and
more personalized lectures.

Research on Other Education Institutions

Melbourne Institution of Technology (MIT)

Though MIT is considered as one of the renowned quality education provider however, I
didn’t choose to study here. MIT provides similar courses as I want and also located at my
preferred location but the tuition fee here seems to be expensive. MIT provide 5 major
bachelors courses for IT; Bachelor of Networking, Bachelor of Networking - Major in Cyber
Security, Bachelor of Data Analytics, Bachelor of Networking - Major in Software
Engineering with the semester fee above AUD $20,000 per semester with Wentworth
Institution fee for AUD $8,800 per semester.
https://www.mit.edu.au/study-with-us/international-students
https://www.mit.edu.au/study-with-us/tuition-fees

Kaplan Business School (KBS)

Kaplan Business School also managed to attract me as it comprised of same course and
being on preferred location (Sydney) but tuition fee for IT at Kaplan is AUD$ 59,760 which
is expensive in comparison with Wentworth Institution which is (AUD$ 52,800).
https://www.kbs.edu.au/courses/bachelor-of-information-technology
https://www.kbs.edu.au/admissions/fees/international-fees
Wentworth Institute of Higher Education (Formerly known as Victory Institute of Higher
Education) is one of the reputed colleges with a long history of practical and industry-
based teaching. This institute provides qualitative, affordable, and supportive campus
environment along with modern facilities and educational materials where the offered
courses are accredited by TEQSA (Tertiary Education and Quality Standards Agency).
This institute offers range of higher degrees that are based on research-training programs
and are supervised by expert academic staff. Courses at Wentworth Institute are
continuously being updated, organized upon practical outcomes, and taught by highly
skilled academic experts as the policy and any procedure is consistent with Australian
Qualifications Framework (AQF) and Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF)
(https://www.win.edu.au/ future-students/admission-criteria/). This institution aims to
be known as a top education provider, renowned for a caring environment for students and
guiding them on the path towards successful careers.

Through the provision of industry-relevant, innovative, quality education courses. It also

aims to address the learning needs of international students and in term of the future
needs of students with which they will be employed. Besides, program offered in
Wentworth are regularly reviewed so that they’ve national and international relevance.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Wentworth is highly effective which is
designed to develop the programming skills, problem-solving tactics, about networking,
and so on.

In addition, the main reason for choosing Wentworth is due to its affordable fee structure
compared to other Australian colleges and universities for bachelor of IT programs. The
tuition fees of Wentworth is AUD 17,600 per annum (with scholarship AUD 15,600)
whereas other colleges and universities' fee structures are around AUD 25000-35000 per
annum. Comparing Wentworth with Victoria University and at western Sydney, the tuition
is AUD 33300 per year. I found the above-mentioned universities are quite more
expensive than Wentworth. In other universities, we cannot get proper attention and care
from professors due to a large number of students whereas Wentworth has a smaller
number of students through which I can get proper care and guidance from professors. In
KOI there are very limited international students whereas the maximum number of
students come from Nepal, India and China. Wentworth has good students mixed up and
has an excellent support system for the international student so that we can feel a homely
environment.

The college is located at Surry Hills, Australia, which is one of the world-class cities in the
world and draws a population from over 200 countries that offers mixed cultural
experiences tied up in food, music, arts, festival and exhibition. The campus located was
established to deliver high-quality degree programs for both domestic and international
students. The entry requirement is quite flexible in comparison to other universities and
colleges. It is the hub of transport and restaurant facilities with suit every budget and taste.
The campus located in Sydney will be accessible with trains metro and busses so I can
transport from university to staying place easily. There is on-campus accessibility, well-
equipped labs and studios at Wentworth that will help me to achieve my future plans. I
compared the course structure elective unit’s class size of Wentworth Institute and the
above-mentioned Universities and was finally satisfied to study my course. So, I would like
to take the same degree at an affordable course from Wentworth. I also checked a video on
YouTube about Wentworth while doing research and I also checked reviews over there. I
also received counselling from a counsellor about Wentworth. So I came to know that,
studying at Wentworth Institute will become a lifelong investment.

Finally, I concluded that Wentworth Institute will be the best choice for higher education
institutions over the above-mentioned education providers.

Course structure, relevancy to previous study, favorite one

As my previous study is completely based on Information systems and computing, it’s a

very obvious reason to choose information technology. Some of the courses I studied
during my diploma were Web Development and programming, computer fundamentals,
microprocessors, DBMS, C programming, Math, Physics, etc. Though I studied those
practical subjects, my institutions did not provided sufficient practical knowledge rather
focused on theory and marking only. Though I have degree, I still lacks skill
(http://ctevt.org.np/).

Reason for choosing Sydney for my higher education

There are several regions to choose in Australia to study and live but through my research
from my parents, from internet and from abroad friends, they suggested to choose Sydney
as my study location. I haven’t been to Australia once but through the internet we can
observe the whole world, isn’t it? The reason behind choosing Sydney is due to its
environment, beauty, and many opportunities for abroad students. I went through different
websites while searching information about Sydney which are as follows:
https://studentcities.com.au/study-sydney/
https://www.studyaustralia.gov.au/explore-australia/nsw/sydney
Sydney being the capital of New South Wales is the largest and oldest city in Australia and
its home to Sydney Opera house, Sydney Harbor Bridge, and numerous angelic beaches and
national parks. It is the perfect destination to study, work and enjoy life. It is beautiful,
relaxing and safe. It has quick access to bushland and wonderful parks and natural reserves
and it’s full of multicultural choices- whether to entertain, shopping or relaxation. Studying
in Sydney opens new horizons for everyone who chooses it for higher studies. My dreams
will be uplifted by Sydney’s charm and hospitality.

The city has plenty of opportunities to work and socialize. Sydney has multiple cafés,
restaurants, and retail stores where it’s easy to access all the required items. This means
that there are plenty of opportunities for international students. The weather is perfect for
riding a bicycle and exploring the city center. The public transport system in Sydney makes
it very convenient and easy for students to get around the suburbs, city center, and other
neighboring areas like Newcastle, Gold Coast, and beautiful mountain ranges which is also
familiar to my own country Nepal.

Since Sydney offers so many options and positive feelings, I think my presence will be
productive. Thus, I decided that Sydney would be the best city for me to stay in and pursue
my higher education.

Living arrangement in Sydney

I intend to live in shared accommodation near Sydney City, close to Wentworth Institute,
after I arrive in Australia. This will be a new environment for me, especially with people from
the same cultural background, and I believe that if I stay in shared housing, I will receive
support from housemates as well. As I have researched from different website such as:
https://www.gumtree.com.au/ and https://flatmates.com.au/ where I can find cheap
accommodation and plenty of option for my living. While researching through the internet, I
came to know about average student’s accommodation and living cost in Sydney however
these costs can vary depending on study location in Australia. The below information was
provided by Australian government website;

Accommodation
Hostels and Guesthouses $90 to $150 per week
Shared Rental $95 to $215 per week
On campus $110 to $280 per week
Home stay $235 to $325 per week
Rental $185 to $440 per week
Boarding schools $11,000 to $22,000 a year

Other living expenses

Groceries and eating out $140 to $280 per week
Gas, electricity $10 to $20 per week
Phone and Internet $15 to $30 per week
Public transport $30 to $60 per week
Car (after purchase) $150 to $260 per week
Entertainment $80 to $150 per week

Total Expenses during the Study and Stay in Australia

In relation to my total expenses in Australia, I have gone through it and calculated as per
Australian Standard for living i.e., AU$ 21,041*3=AU$ 63,123 for living expenses, tuition fee
expenses (AU$52,800), enrolment fee (AU$250), the material fee (AU$2,400), OSHC cost
(AU$2,090) and travel expenses (AU$4,000) becomes AU$ 124,663 for 3 years. So, the total
cost associated with whole expenses in Australia in Nepalese currency is approximately
NRs. 10,845,681 (estimated exchange rate 1 AU$ = NRs. 87).

My career plans after completing course (Bachelors of Information Technology)

Completing my preferred course from Wentworth Institute will be the great achievement
for my academic career. Wentworth Institute’s Bachelor of Information Technology course
will defiantly take me to the next stage of my career paths in the industry of computing and
technology. International bachelor’s degree in IT is highly demanded in home country. After
completion of this course, I would prefer to complete my master’s degree from one of the
renowned universities and then return to my home country with having highly skill
profession. Through all of my achievements and skills gained from foreign country will be
most precious moment for me. Every door for the job will be welcoming me that will assist
me to contribute to the overall development of my home country in technology.

After acquiring necessary knowledge and professions, I will defiantly look after my country
and my family. Through the skill I gathered from foreign country, I will shape my career in
the industry of IT in my home country. Returning home country as a highly qualified IT
professional I will apply for the jobs in various positions with average monthly salary the
company provided. There are several private and governmental job providers in Nepal who
provides decent salary for their highly skilled employee such as World Link Communication,
Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), Nepal Telecom (NTC), Axiata (Ncell),
Chaudhary Groups and some International Levels companies like Verisk Nepal, Cotiviti
Nepal, Cloud factory, Crossover Nepal, Deerwalk and so on who continuously open vacancy
for jobs in the different positions of Data Manager, Senior Software Development Managers,
technology consultant, business and system analyst, IT project manager and some high level
jobs. In addition, there are several NGOs and INGOs too which provides high profile jobs for
skilled human resources (https://unjobs.org/search). So, having the international degree
as well as gathered skills and experience helps me to provide my career jobs.

There is a big demand for IT professionals, I will serve here in my motherland as a high
quality professional with respect to salary and live a quality life with my family. I have not
only planned to grow up myself as a sincere citizen, but I also have responsibilities towards
my family member who sponsored my education without a second thought.

Motivation to Return Home Country, Nepal

In the present situation, Nepal is on the verge to expand its national economy through
massive development plans and looking forward to become active in the global stage.
Economic development goals have been planned, projected and redesigned to attract foreign
investments and policies. At that moment, the country would need huge skilled manpower
for the nations to uplift its economy, and for the development of our nations. Being an
underdeveloped country Nepal is facing lots and lots of issues for its development and if I
could help my country with anything I am ready for that.

My specific intention from this application is to get higher education under the well-
regulated, prestigious and reputed education system of Australia. My primary goal is to use
the knowledge, experience and skills in my homeland i.e. Nepal that I will gain during my
study in Australia. My chance of getting a job in a well-renowned company in Nepal will be
higher as the course scope of a bachelor of Information Technology is high in global and
domestic business job markets.

Moreover, Nepal government has partnered with several private agencies for the
Development of Nepal through several programs like Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs), 5 years plan, 25 year plans (2020-2044) to uplift the development of nation but, for
all this project to be completed we need skilled manpower
(https://kathmandupost.com/national /2018/10/17/25-year-visions,
https://nepaleconomicforum.org/key/). If I get a chance to involve in these kind of
development programs I would be more satisfy than staying in other developed countries.
Nepal still lacks proper education, prosperity and happiness, skilled human resources which
makes me fell so disappoint and want to be part of the development of my nation. There are
people like Mr. Mahabir Pun, Mr. Kul Man Ghising etc who are constantly making effort for
the development of country and I being senior citizen of Nepal, I must bear responsibility to
give hand in development of nation.

Besides this, I hold primal responsibilities and duties to fulfill my family members'
responsibilities and expectations. I must look after my parents as they would turn weaker
physically and emotionally with the growing age. Their devotion to nurturing me and
constant support to build academics and careers is precious. I must support them
financially, emotionally and morally as they will be eagerly waiting for my return to my
homeland. They will be very happy on my return and become proud of my academic
achievement in Australia.

Besides that, I am always a proud Nepali citizen and never think of settling in foreign
nations. If my own country’s universities and colleges has provided a quality education,
practice-based knowledge, and international level degree then I wouldn’t have apply for
international degree. Till now I have my identity as a Nepalese and will always be very
humble toward my motherland. Therefore, I promise that I would not let my identity to be
changed as it describes me throughout my life. My full emotions and sentiments always lie
for my family, friends, and hometown where I have passed beautiful unforgettable moments
of my life.
