Introduction

Business sectors are one of the major contributors to the world's economy, and more than 65% of the
world's GDP is contributed by the business and industrial sectors. I am sharing these facts because, as a
management student I loved to experience different business and industrial trip.The obvious stop in my
life is to be a valuable asset for next business.

As affluence is taking lead in the world, with best possible experiences, being born in the lap of the
Himalayas, I see lots of opportunities and possibilities in business and management sector. What I felt
and what I believe is “Best Management makes Great Business”. Namaste, my name is Bibak
Neupane born on 20th July 2004 holding a passport number 12605365. I live in a joint family of five
including me and my parents, grandfather and only uncle, permanently residing at Kaligandaki VDC,
Ward No.05, Syangja, Gandaki Province, Nepal which is a geographically complex location and people
here mostly depend upon agriculture, business and life securing jobs. I present myself as an inquisitive
person trying to learn and explore new things along with a desire dream to achieve forgiven targets. I am
a hardworking student who is prepared to put up all effort necessary to give my future greater
significance. I am writing this statement of purpose to pursue Diploma in Business from one of the most
prestigious institutes in the world name Niagara College, at the Toronto School of Management
College, Toronto, Canada. I have already been accepted by the college for the upcoming May 2023
intake and my family will be sponsoring my studies.

I feel very much excited to put forward my plans and purposes so that, you would find me a deserving
student and grant me access to study my post graduate course in Canada.

My brief profile
I have always been a very good practical learner; I would enjoy practical classes more than theories. So,
for my high school, I chose a management course because I had always been very organized and had an
innate leadership quality. However, I was able to complete my Secondary Education Examination (Grade
10) from Pamir International Academy located at Shankarnagar-03, Rupandehi (Present: Tilottama
Municipality Ward No. 02, Janakinagar) in 2019 with a GPA of 2.70. Right after my schooling, I had to
decide the course for my career, because from now, my choices would be much more precise and would
create a significant impact on my career. After that, I completed School Leaving Certificate Examination
(Grade 12) in Management faculty from Manimukunda College, located at Butwal Sub-Metropolitan
City Ward No. 11, Yogikuti, Rupandehi in 2021 with GPA of 2.72.

My Motivations
Initially, after my intermediate level of study, following the footprints of my own as being a management
student, I had a desire to study abroad for my further education which shall play a vital role for the
upliftment of my educational background making myself a valuable asset of my area/country with quality
education, work experience and with a power to acknowledge important lessons in my life. To meet the
necessary educational requirement and to upgrade my choice of interest in my leaser period I have
attended a 3 months computer tally training in Lifeline Nepal Multipurpose Company Pvt Ltd located
at Butwal Sub Metropolitan City Ward No. 10, Rupandehi which has added a great role to pursue my first
unpaid internship in one of the best Classical Computer Institute in the town. Therefore, I started my
research on ways to get to managerial positions and learn the actual operational and business management
skills in the business industry. After only a few months of rigorous research, I found a perfect course for
me called Undergraduate Degree in Business course in Canada, which had the perfect learning
outcomes and exposure to the skills in managerial and operational aspects of all type of businesses.
Further research into this course, I found that it covers financial management principles such as cost
accounting, management accounting, and audit practices and procedures relevant to the business
industry. It also covers management theory and operating practices, including the fundamental principles
underlying management planning, organizing, directing, and controlling in a service-driven industry. The
skills I will acquire would enable me to not only work in managerial positions but also to establish my
own business. This motivated me to pursue my academic journey in Business Management. Moreover, I
realized that undergraduate degrees are often specialization courses and are preferred by individuals
having the fundamental backgrounds in the field that they want their expertise in and with this
specialization, I am confident that, I can get myself into the desired career aspirations. To meet the
English language requirement to enroll in Canadian colleges or universities, I appeared for the PTE exam
on 9th December, 2022 where I secured an overall score of 60 (Listening = 56, Reading = 66, Speaking
= 64, and Writing = 59).

Reasons for not choosing Nepal.

As a basic choice, I did prefer to find a similar course in Nepal at first, but unfortunately, I didn’t find any
choices for the kind of course and learning outcomes that I was looking for, so I took some suggestions
from my elders and graduates, theirs experience was pretty uninspiring, they weren’t happy about their
course curriculum, teaching methodology, and the learning outcomes. This is very much true because in
Nepal, our courses are pretty outdated and the educational institutes are not well managed and regulated
to provide quality education, students here in Nepal go through a 4 years of bachelor's degree but at the
end of the course, students are left with no tangible skills which make them very inefficient at the
workplace. Realizing all these, I started to explore international choices and finally stumbled upon
Niagara College, Canada. Moreover, I also realized so many benefits of studying abroad and I knew
there are so many benefits of studying in a new environment. The fact that getting an international degree
from one of the well-reputed colleges in Canada would add significant weight to my professional life, I
could easily be able to outstand the average Nepalese graduates and in turn have the privilege of getting
better salaries and designations. I can develop skills that are highly valued by employers, such as
intercultural sensitivity, the ability to deal with ambiguity, and adaptation to new surroundings. This can
help me get ahead with prospective employers.

Experiencing new cultures and countries, I will have the chance to meet and connect with people from
different cultures, and develop an understanding and appreciation of people from other countries in order
to improve cross-cultural competency, these skills are very much beneficial for a career in the business
sector. Finally, I came to the conclusion that studying abroad would far outweigh studying in Nepal both
in terms of my personal and professional life. So, I decided not to study in Nepal.

Why Niagara College, Toronto,Canada.

It was my first choice because while I was looking for acourse that could help me learn the skills in
managerial and operational aspects of the hospitality and tourism business, Niagara College, Canada
had the exact course and perfect learning outcomes. However, I did consider a few different choices as-
well, just to verify my decisions. Choosing a suitable college to fit my goals was tough itself. The
choices where I was stuck were, Kaplan Business School, Australia, and At Sheffield Hallam
University, the UK. However, my initial choice for Niagara College, Canada as I was verbally
recommended by my father’s friend son who is listed as a Management Team in one of the reputed
commercial bank i.e. Prime Commercial Bank of Nepal as he owned a Master of Business Administration
from Niagara College which has boosted him professionally and financially ranking his good image in the
banking sector. Following his footprints and the verbal communication made with him I came to a
conclusion to choose Niagara College for my further study purpose which has so many advantages that
outweighed the other choices.What I appreciate about Niagara is the well-roundedness of the
curriculum, the cooperative education opportunities available. As Niagara provides variety of factors
including educational quality, location, and student reviews. Niagara College is a 50-year-old institution
and has become top in applied education with a global reach. It offers students with living laboratories
and top-notch facilities that enable practical applied learning opportunities, world-class applied research,
and smaller class sizes in a cozy and welcoming setting. Graduates of Niagara College are culturally and
globally competent, imaginative, adaptive, and entrepreneurial, pushing the limits of what is possible for
business in Niagara, across Canada, and around the world. Additionally, compared to other colleges,
Niagara College has slightly more affordable tuition fee CAD $17,410.90 and since I was given a
scholarship worth CAD $3,000 & deduction of CAD $500. I just paid CAD $13,910.90.

Likewise, a lot of online reviews claim that Niagara College offers superior business-related courses.
There are several advantages to study Business at Niagara College, including the field trip opportunities
related to the industry, gaining internationally recognized professional certifications, and networking with
industry and business professionals through guest speakers and business events. I will also get extensive
practical experience through my studies. The college is large and known for its excellent facilities and
innovative approach to learning. The college's central location in Toronto makes it accessible to students
and also provides us with opportunities to participate in a variety of cultural activities and events. As
Canada's largest city, Toronto is a world leader in business, hospitality, technology, entertainment, and
culture. The city's diverse and vibrant communities make it a great place to study, experience, and enjoy.
Toronto's diversity makes it a culturally rich environment that would be ideal for a hospitality student. I
am confident that investing in my education at Niagara will give me the skills and experience I need to be
successful in the future. The business industry in Canada is well-developed. In Canada, I will not only
gain practical experience, but also cross-cultural communications skills. Canada is recognized worldwide
for its outstanding quality of education, and international students can enjoy a high standard of living.
Additionally, Canada is known for having some of the lowest university tuition fees among English-

speaking countries. Studying here will provide me with the opportunity to experience a climate, culture,
and way of life that is truly unique and I am confident that the Canadian degree will add significant value
to my future career.

Learning outcomes and plans after graduation.

The course which I decided to go with has a well-rounded curriculum with an emphasis on various
different skills such asbusiness operations, management, and marketing activities needed to run well-
established businesses. I would also be able to develop, implement, and revise strategic operational plans
for a particular department or the whole business. Since my course is about business, I will be learning to
manage and perform things like events, conferences, attractions, outdoor adventures, and
recreational activities which shall play an essential role to fit myself in a well business. The business
professional must be able to make the most revenue possible while working within the limits to defect all
the obstacles on the steps. So, I will be learning how to calculate different measures of success (key
performance indicators) for businesses, and use that information to help make decisions thatcan improve
the chances of achieving long-term goals related to revenue. All these are the high-level skills that I
couldn’t learn in my schooling, and I am confident that with these skill sets, I can easily take up
managerial and administrative roles in any type of business industry. Nepal is a country full of
possibilities. My concepts of leadership, whether with a small business, in entry-level management, in the
not-for-profit sector, or within corporations, will be nurtured and challenged. The course will give me the
fundamental business knowledge and abilities which I need to advance into managerial positions or start
my own business. I can develop strategies for ongoing personal and professional development to enhance
work performance in the business field. I will be able to use accounting and financial principles and apply
marketing and sales concepts used to support the operations of an organization. I can develop strategies
for personal and professional development to enhance work performance in the business field. Also, this
course will provide me with a wide choice of career opportunities in the business world. So, this course is
perfect for me. Having all these skill sets and also the Canadian qualifications and exposure, I could
explore the various different career choices in business and financial corporations as a valuable asset and
so much more managerial and supervisory levels depending upon different niches.

I precisely wanted to work with one of the highly successful financial institutes in Nepal name “Nabil
Bank Limited” which is one of the leading commercial bank classified as “A Class” Commercial Bank
by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) also known as a Central Bank of Nepal. The bank which I choose to extend
my financial interest, Nabil Bank was previously known as Nepal Arab Bank Limited which has different
financial companies under their belt and vision. The Bank also has more than 200 international
correspondent banking relationships. Nabil Bank operates its investment banking arm through its
subsidiary Nabil Investment Banking Ltd. Working with them I can explore my skills and knowledge
learned in Canada and also build my expertise as an Operational Manager. In addition, to my Canadian
degree and international exposure, I would be easily hired for my desired position at Nabil Bank Limited,
because they understand the value and new perspective that an international graduate can bring to their
business which is impossible itself with the knowledge and the degree I will gain here studying in Nepal.
It may sound irrelevant as there are other staffs who pose a Nepalese degree as the thing is that the degree
gained here in Nepal leads to open the door as an entry level or assistant level. However, I am confident
that, I could be earning excellent remuneration and along with that best position directly then the entry
level position with the tag of Canadian Degree which shall later boost my career to climb the staircase of

my success and growth. Moreover, it might sound hissy; I will be getting so many incentives and facilities
such as vehicle as well as paid vacations with it.

Financials
I am mindful that, enough funds are required to cover all kinds of expenses incurred while my study
tenure in Canada. Therefore, my parents are more than willing to contribute their income and savings for
my better education and future. After deciding to pursue an international education, my parents,
grandfather and my only uncle have arranged all the financial documents required to apply for a study
permit. They have assured me to give me a complete financial support for the duration of my studies in
Canada. As, my father (Mr.Yadu Prasad Neupane) is a shareholder of Subhalaxmi Aluminum Udhyog
located at Tilottama Municipality Ward No. 11 owning a 45.00% stake of the firm. As per the latest
Fiscal Year the partnership firm has crossed whooping annual income of CAD $26,406.36 after deduction
of all the administrative expenses including tax which is ……..% more than last fiscal year out of which
separation of my father annual income is CAD $11,882.86. In addition, my father receives an annual
income of CAD $6,298.06 from House Rent. Likewise, my mother (Mrs.Kamala Neupane) receives an
annual income of CAD $5,926.41 as she has been working in Shree Krishna Gandaki Multipurpose Co-
Operative Ltd as a marketing manager. Similarly, my grandfather (Mr.Bhuwananda Neupane) receives an
annual income of CAD $8,729.99 from land lease. Calculating all my family annual income my family
sponsors have a total annual income of CAD $32,837.32 which itself is very much sufficient to cover my
expenses. In addition, my mother (Mrs. Kamala Neupane) has secured a bank loan of CAD $46,767.82.
Besides that, my father & my only uncle (Mr. Ram Prasad Neupane) have a property of approximately
CAD $.............. Additionally, my parents have deposited a sum of CAD $......... in my personal bank
account at NMB Bank Limited. Therefore, I give you an assurance that I would not have any financial
hindrance throughout my stay in Canada. As I have already paid the tuition fees for the year, I don’t have
to worry about the cost involved and completely focus my attention onmy studies.

Incentives to return back

After accomplishing my degree, I would certainly return to my motherland, Nepal as I have my family in
my home country to take care of. As a single, loved child, I want to support my family emotionally as
well as financially as much as I can in their old age. Furthermore, I need to be back in my country to take
care of my family assets which will be passed down to me. Also, my father at his verge of retirement due
to which I need to return back to take care all the familial responsibilities. My career aspiration is
completely related to me being here in Nepal and executing them. The course and career path that I have
chosen has a lot of scopes and opportunities here in Nepal. I am quite certain about my career and also
very optimistic that my plans will be successful. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that, it
would be easy for me to compete and execute my plans here in Nepal than on the competitive ground of
Canada. I have also considered myself a very patriotic person and my ultimate purpose is to contribute to
the nation. I don’t see any reason to prolong my stay in Canada, doing so will only delay my career.
Instead, I would like to build my roots here in Nepal, where I can stay with my parents, enjoy my own
culture and live a happy and fulfilled life. And logically, it would be very much easy for me to succeed
here in Nepal than in any other place in the world.

So, I assure you that I will immediately return back to my home country after my studies.
