I truly assent with the above words and believe in supporting what is ethically appropriate. As
I have always advocated in maintaining law and order and strive to help individuals in
safeguarding their rights, I feel that progressing in the realm of law would help me fulfill my
desire to help individuals and help them get justice and thus, lead a life of dignity. If we look
around, we tend to witness several scams that take place and how the humble workers are
time and again exploited. They are neither paid handsomely nor are they provided a safe
working environment. I truly felt the need for contributing towards advocating for their rights
and for several other people who were in dearth of getting their plight represented. However,
I duly acknowledge that I would be in better stead only when I am well acquainted with my
preferred field of interest. Thus, I began looking for similar programs and it is only after
thorough research that I, Nishana Khanal decided to opt for a Diploma program in Law
Clerk in Seneca College, Canada.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
I have been an experiential learner throughout my academic pursuits. Considering my
academic background, I did my schooling at Children Prak Secondary School (affiliated with
Secondary Education Examination) with a GPA of 3.4. I cleared my high school from
Advanced Academy with a GPA of 3.28. As I was zealous to learn about the domain of law,
I used to exhibit great interest while studying Business Studies as it was through this subject
that I learned about the regulation of organizations through laws of partnership, company and
agency. I was zealous to learn about how legal practices influence the business environment
and the quest to progress in a similar field made me seek career counselling and while
undergoing intensive career counselling sessions, I decided to opt for a program that
would help furnish a substantial understanding of real estate, corporate and
commercial law, litigation, wills and estates, and family law. And it is only after much
deliberation that I decided to opt for the Diploma program in Law Clerk from Seneca
College.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Apart from academics, I was always involved in various extracurricular activities.

Throughout my school years, I have participated in speeches, and sports and engaged in
social activities as a member of scout. I also got chance to volunteer in an organisation called
Service for Peace Nepal and work with the Korean team of Dankook University during my
high school. Such participation has enhanced my teamwork, communication, leadership, and
organizational skills.

LANGUAGE ABILITIES
With the intent of pursuing my higher education from a foreign institution, I appeared for the
IELTS Examination and secured an Overall Band Score of 7.0 which consists of
individual scores of 8.0 in Listening, 8.5 in Reading, 6.0 in Writing and, 6.0 in Speaking.
Further, all my education has been completed with English as the medium of instruction.
WHY LAW CLERK PROGRAM?

I have always been fascinated by the procedures of how the law works. Working with Kanuni
Anusandhan Tatha Upachar Sewa Kendra as a legal assistant helped me to gain a better
understanding of law by attending various seminars, courtrooms and field visits. This two-
year legal program provided me with the information and abilities necessary to work
alongside lawyers on their cases. My study will be focused on domains comprising real
estate, corporate and commercial law that will be taught by legal experts with vast
experience. This course will teach me how to fulfill the needs of clients and legal
professionals by using appropriate terminology and effective communication tactics in both
oral and written communication. I will be able to perform any tasks inside the legal
environment within routine and unexpected timelines and limitation periods once the course
is completed.

The course offers engaging modules like Professional Communication for Law Clerks,
Legal Contracts in Everyday Life and Social Media, Transcription and Legal Document
Production, Legal Office Procedures and Project Management, Corporate and
Commercial Law I, Litigation I and Personal Injury, Family Law I, Professional
Conduct and Career Development, etc. These modules will help me learn how to do legal
research, aid with file and evidentiary management, promote communication, and prepare
legal paperwork in the legal environment while adhering to current regulations and
procedures by using current and relevant electronic and print resources. In order to assist the
legal team, I will learn to study and summarise the given legal challenges while utilizing
substantive law expertise. I'll gain the technical skills, principles, and ethics essential for
practice through workshops, law firm tours, court visits, and field placement.

hope to learn the latest concepts while also expanding my horizons and developing a broader,
more international outlook. While interacting with students of different nationalities and
diverse backgrounds, I will be able to develop a deeper understanding of different cultures
and mindsets and work towards my personal growth.

FUTURE GOALS
Upon successful completion of my course, Intend to return to my home country with well-
equipped experience and knowledge in a related field. To bring social reforms, the existing
court, Law firms, and governmental as well as non-governmental organizations in my country
really need educated officers with international knowledge and experience. I believe a
globally recognized degree will enable me to advocate for change.
Further, the qualification will allow me better employment opportunities because Canadian
Certificates are considered honourable which will help me gain international exposure and a
successful career back in my nation of origin. I intend to work with leading firms of Nepal
like Sinha Verma Law Concern Nepal, Imperial Law Associates, Pioneer Law
Associates, Reliance Law Firm, Neupane Law Associates, Gandhi, and Associates, etc.
as a Corporate Law Clerk, Real Estate Law Clerk, etc. These renowned firms demand
well Sophisticated and versed youth legal assistants. Along with that my long-term plan is to
pursue an LLB degree in Nepal and prepare myself for the Nepal Bar exam after earning my
diploma degree in related disciplines that include legal studies, government, and finance. I am
confident that the degree and experience that I'll gain from Seneca will support my career
path.
FINANCIAL BACKGROUND
Talking about the financial arrangements, we have a strong financial status. My father and
Mother will be sponsoring my tuition fees, living expenses and other expenses with their
cumulative annual income of CAD$ from business, house rent, agriculture, and salary. Our
family has property and assets worth CAD$ 726,273.35 and my mother has a bank balance of
CAD $. After paying CAD$15,727.92 as my first-year tuition fee. Thus, I am confident to
accomplish my Canadian diploma degree with good financial standing. All the required
financial documents are attached to this application.
CONCLUSION
I am very fortunate to have loving parents who are supporting me since day one. They
believe in quality education. It would be such a proud moment when I return home with one
of the most prestigious and respectable certificates. I want to prove to my parents that their
hard work and contribution paid off by utilizing all the skills and knowledge that I gain from
Seneca College. Being the only child in my family, I have certain duties and responsibilities
toward my parents. I will forever be grateful for their enormous love and support. I want to
be their support system during their old age days and give them the happy retirement life that
they deserve.
