STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Introduction:

My name is Kirandeep Kaur(DOB 16/05/2005). I have applied for the Bachelor of Business
program at La-TrobeUniversity and would like to achieve my degree from Australia for my
successful career in business and economics studies. The Business stream has good scope
for career development after having an Australian degree in India. I am sincere,
enthusiastic, confident, career-oriented person and grew up in a very work- oriented
environment. Ihave a keen interest to learn about Economics and business skills; I believe
that this is the right choice of career for measitis ever the last longing. I was always curious
about my study and keen to get a common wealth qualification as that will boost my
resume and get colossal working opportunities for me in my home country.

FamilyBackgroundAndEconomicCircumstance:
I live with my father He is running his own business with great dedication andhonesty and
has huge respect in society and my mother Minakshi Khosla (DOB 04/11/1981). She is
homemaker. Moreover, my parents are the strongest backbone ofmy family. My family has a
good source of income and they will sponsor me for my complete duration ofstudies and my
stay in Australia. I am blessed with loving and financially strong parents. Moreover, I have
ayounger brother Rohan Khosla (DOB 30/18/2006). My family has a good source of income
and they will sponsor me for mycomplete duration of studies and my stay in Australia. I
belong to a well settled family. Now, I am applying for aStudyvisato Australia to learn
moreabout mychoosing course and practices overseas. I wanted toimprove my skills and get
more knowledge by completing my education from abroad. I spend most of mytime with
them and they always guide me in every situation. I have completed most of my studies in
Indiaand by staying with my family, who helped me to establish a deep relationship with
them and my family ismost important thing to me. So, to make them feel proud, I want to
excel myself andearn recognition inmy field.Now,withthe properguidance of my

AcademicQualification:
As far as my education history is concerned, I completed my secondary education in the year
2020 underPSEB Board. After that, I did my senior secondary in 2022 under PSEB. After
completing high school, Irealized the importance of international exposure and its implication
on my entire academic and practicalknowledge gained throughout high school education. So,
for that purpose, I started preparing for my PTEexam and gave my exam on 17/10/2022 with
a 61 band score.After that, I started looking for universitiesin Australia. After a lot of research,
I found La-Trobe University as the perfect option for me.

Commerce is the system of an economy, which provides an environment for business

and other trade-
basedinteractionsbetweenpeopleandorganizations.ThroughoutmyBachelorofBusiness,I
’llfocusonkeybusiness areas while developing skills such as analysis, management,
negotiation, and communication. Myundergraduate business degree will probably be
three years, of study in Australia. Whilst in the program, I’lllearn about areas such as
leadership, managing resources, finance, and ethics. Other topics that are
oftenexploredinthesecoursesincludedatamanagement,riskmanagement,andbusinessde
velopment.Completing a willequip mewith strong management andbusiness
knowledge. Apartfrom that, this coursewillassistmetolearnfromourindustry-
experiencedacademicsthroughpracticalandwork-integratedlearning. The industry is
embedded in the curriculum by this I will get hands-on experience with industry-

WhyNotIndia?

There are some issues not considering my further studies in my home country. The Indian
education system is notup to date and if I talk in comparison to Australia, the UK, the US,
and Canada. Despite this, some courses are alsoavailable inIndia, the reason behind
choosing Australia rather than India for myhigher studies is the majorityofthe Indian
Education system is based on theoretical knowledge, the cast and creed system is
implemented overhere and preference is given to those students who belong to lower
castes and without considering their grades,seats are allocated to them, which I consider
completely unfair. Looking at the subject of the Bachelor’s program inIndia then they are
the same as they were many years ago. There is hardly any progression. However, things
aredifferent in international universities. Countries like Australia and others look into the
latest trends and accordinglybring revisions to their course contents and educate their
students accordingly. This helps their students to learnmodern techniques and they keep in
touch with the market updates without any hassle. Admission to

WhyNotOtherCountries?

Ididseveralresearchesformyabroadstudies.IparticularlylookedforGermany,theUSA,Canad
a,theUK,andAustralia for myhighereducation.
Germany is well known for its engineering and technical education and also offers free
education to local andinternational students. This is one of the biggest advantages for
students like me as I could study Business studiesfor almost free of cost. But, the problem
of studying in Germany was, their language of instructions. They requireda German
language certificate of B1 level which is mandatory to take admission in state universities
in Germanyand if I consider private institutes over there then the annual fee structure is
very high as compared to Australia(http://www.daad.de./en/.). Similarly, they require 13
years of high school which is different than in India. So,lookingatall thesefacts,Ididn’t
chooseGermanyformyhighereducation.
My next research was the USA, one of the most preferred destinations in providing quality
education to students. Ilooked for a few Universities over there such as Arizona State
University, West Virginia University, WashingtonState University, and Marshall University
Huntington. They all are reputed universities in the USA but are
locatedveryfarfromthemaincitiesandtravelingtakeslonghours.Moreover,theUSAisexpensive
ifIconsideraccommodation,travel,food,andtuitionfee.USAembassybasedinNewDelhicanturn
downanynormalapplicationwithoutanyreasonandwithoutseeingtheirdocumentation.Also,S
ATisrequiredinthemajorityofthe universities which takes quite a long time (3 to 6 months)
for preparation and getting a good score. This is themajorreasonIdecidednot toapplyfor
theUS-basedUniversities.
My third research country was Canada, known for its cold weather and quality life around
the globe. In Canada,majority of colleges are offering 2 years Diploma programs and
Bachelors are of 4 years rather than 3 years. Isearched, Sheridan College, Centennial
College, Niagara College, Mount Saint Vincent University, Humber
CollegeandLambtonCollege.MydesireistostudyMasterandnotDiploma.Canada’scoldweatheri
salsoverychallenging for Indian students. We are not used to live in such extreme weather
conditions. The environment inAustralia isquitesimilar to that ofIndia. The United Kingdom
was my next researched country for higher education, I found the UK quite
impressive(http://www.britichcouncil.in/study-UK) but still there are some flaws due to
which I did not choose it for myfurther studies. UK’s bachelor's degree is of 4 years and the
tuition fee is way more expensive than Australia.AnnualtuitionfeesofUK
universitiesare10000GBP to 13000GBP.
I looked for EAST London University, Birmingham City University, De Mont Fort University,
Cardiff MetropolitanUniversity, and Portsmouth University. Apart from the higher tuition
fee structure, the weather is the foremostfactorfor metonot choosetheUK formynexthigher
education.
WhyAustralia?

I wish to continue my further studies in Australia because of various reasons. First and
foremost, it offers top-notcheducation which is recognized as among the best and most
innovative in the world. Secondly, Australian universitiesare widely recognized for their
existence as they deliverpractical and career-orientededucation so that studentscan acquire
the skills and knowledge required to enhance their careers. Thirdly, it stands among popular
studydestinations with international students from across the globe. It is a multicultural,
safe, friendly, and welcomingsociety offering an excellentenvironment for international
students to adjust and study. On top of that, Australiahas grown to become one of the most
preferred destinations of many students like me in recent years which seemsunstoppable
now. It offers a globally recognized and qualitative degree. The Australian Government has
formulatedthe Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) which regulates the education
system in order to maintain the highstandard of education associated with the country, due
to which Australian graduates are highly sought. In

to offer courses on a student visa.Moreover, I have chosen Australia because it has
implemented rules which protect the right to education. Australiais the country in the world,
which allows ESOS (Education Services for Overseas Students) Act 2000Almost all
theuniversities in Australia are government recognized which makes international students
safe about their future andeducation.

I have decided with the best thought of doing my Bachelor of Businessfrom a reputed
university/college whichwould give me a monotony degree but also a new style of learning

MyFutureCareerPlan
Thefieldofbusinessknowledgealwaysremainsindemandasitisthebackboneofeveryb
usinessentity. A good employee is needed in every industry. It is one of the most
respected professions in theworld. Business graduates play an important role in
any business. They are a very crucial part of
anorganization,formanagingpayroll,auditing,andfinancialmanagement.Duetotheind
ividualdemandof different companies, the demand for Finance Managers is
increasing. Eligible candidates can find jobsin public, private, or non-profit
industries and companies. One can opt for various career profiles such asfinance
manager, sales manager, HR manager etcetera. After I finish my studies in
Australia, I would loveto start my career as a fresher. A fresher can also earn a
good amount of money in India but slowly I cangetmy dreamjob.My dreamjob
isasan InternationalBusiness DevelopmentManager.
I would like to become an international business development manager in India. As
this is a very reputedand high earning job in India. Having an international degree
will boost my chances to get my dream job.International Business management is a
field of management that is concerned with the management
ofthebusinessofacompanyororganizationtoachievedevelopmentobjectives.Withthe
eraofliberalization,privatization,&globalization(LPG),numerousopportunitieshaveb
eenlinedupforeffective business development managers in all major companies.
The average annual wage
fordevelopmentmanagersinIndiaisRs.9to12lakhs,butthesalaryvariesbasedonvariou
sparameterssuchascredentials,experience,industry,position,andlocation.Thesalary
ofadevelopment manager is usually higher in business sectors compared to non-
business sectors. Accordingto Pay-Scale, professionals with advanced international
business degrees graduates earn more ratherthan local institutions.
My dream job is always available in the Indian market. Even as a fresher I can earn
a good amount ofmoney. Here are some of the job search websites I am mentioning
here which are also in demand in mynative countries such as International
Marketing Manager, Business Analytic and Manager Financialanalyst. In India, I can
find a job in below mentioned companies. These companies always welcome
freshgraduates in a related field. I am pretty much sure that after finishing my
studies in Australia I definitelycan crack the interview process. I would love to
start in one of the companies that I am mentioning here.IBM, Wipro,Infosys,HSB
andJP.
ReasontoReturntoMyHomeCountry:

Wellaftercompletingthiscourse,Iwillreturntomyhomecountryandlookforcareeropportunitie
sinmydomain. As mentioned above, I will have ample job opportunities after coming back. I
live in a nuclear family andmy parents are very supportive and encouraging. I have huge
responsibilities. My parents are willing to send meabroad for a better future and career but

Student visa allows international students to live and study in Australia. There are several
visa conditions attachedto a student visa. Students are allowed to stay in a student visa as
long as they meet the Terms and Conditions ofthe visa category. The terms and conditions
which I researched for my application areas follow: All students musthave enrollment and
