2011 FORD Edge

Ford takes Edge to a whole new level for the 2011 model year with three new
powertrains, two new transmissions, a bold new exterior design and a
completely new interior. The all-new 2011 Ford Edge comes with class
defining style and revolutionary technology offering customers even more of
what they love. The Edge is all set to rule the road with its industry-exclusive
MyFord Touch system. It is available in SE, SEL, Limited and Sport trims. The
2011 Ford Edge comes with a list of twelve class-exclusive standard and
available features and technologies including SYNC; Easy Fuel (standard);
SecuriCode keyless entry keypad; Blind Spot Mirrors (standard); MyKey
(standard); Advance Trac with RSC (Roll Stability Control, standard); Adaptive
Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support; Cross Traffic Alert;
and 22-inch wheels and paddle activation on the Sport.

Powertrain And Performance

On regular fuel, the Edge's 3.5-liter V6 engine produces 285 horsepower and
253 ft.-lb. of torque while the Edge Sport?s 3.7-liter Twin-independent Variable
Cam Timing (TiVCT) V6 engine delivers 305 horsepower and 280 ft.-lb. of
torque. Both engines are teamed with a six-speed automatic transmission. The
SelectShift Automatic transmission is standard on the Edge SEL and Limited
series, with class-exclusive paddle activation of the SelectShift standard on the
Edge Sport. A new 2.0-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine is mated to a six-speed
transmission delivers 15 percent fuel economy improvements over the current
3.5-liter V-6 engine offering the performance feel of a six-cylinder.

Build And Styling

The Edge SE trim is well equipped with cloth-trimmed seats, single-zone


manual air-conditioning, MyFord with 4.2-inch color LCD displays in cluster
and center stack with 5-way steering wheel controls and 17-inch painted
aluminum wheels. The SEL gets unique cloth-trimmed seats, 6-way driver's
seat, dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, leather-wrapped
steering wheel with cruise control, 5-way switch pads and secondary audio
controls, 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, reverse sensing system ad
supplemental parking lamps. The Limited rolls on 18-inch chrome-clad
aluminum wheels and is equipped with leather-trimmed seats, 10-way heated
power driver's seats, Sony Audio System with High Definition radio with 12
speakers in 10 locations, MyFord Touch with driver configurable 4.2-inch color
LCD displays in cluster and 8-inch color LCD display in center stack, SYNC
system with media hub with USB ports, SD card reader and video input jacks,
rear view camera and six-way heated power, fold-flat front passenger seat. The
top of the line Sport trim sports unique Charcoal Black leather-trimmed seats
with Silver Smoke Metallic inserts, 22-inch polished aluminum wheel with
Tuxedo Black spoke accent, body-color front and rear lower fascia, 4-inch
chrome oval dual exhaust tips and body-color side lower cladding and rocker
molding. The 2011 Ford Edge comes with available iTunes Tagging which
provides customers with the ability to "capture" a song they hear on the HD
Radio receiver for later purchase from iTunes.

Safety Features

The 2011 Ford Edge is equipped with a lot of modern safety features. The Hill
Start reduces rollback on hills and the Trailer Sway Control for greater towing
stability when equipped for trailer tow. The standard safety features includes
AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control (RSC), anti-lock brakes, dual-stage
front airbags in the Personal Safety System and seat-mounted side airbags for
the driver and front passenger and the Safety Canopy side curtain airbags for
outboard-seated passengers in both rows. The available segment-first Adaptive
Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support reduces speed and
automatically pre-charges brakes and engages an electronic brake assist
system to help drivers stop more quickly when the system detects a collision is
about to happen.
