What is friendship

What is friendship? That is one question that each of us would answer differently. Some
of you may think that friendship means being there for someone; having someone you
can share confidences with. Some will say that friendship is having someone that will
bring you up when you're down. I'm sure we will all agree that these are accurate
definitions of the word friendship. But deep down, what is friendship?
The dictionary defines friendship as "the state of being a friend". What is a friend?
According to the same dictionary, friend is defined as "a person attached to another by
feelings of affection or personal regard". This means friendship is being attached to
another person by affection and personal regard.
A friend is someone who will be there for you, no matter what you're going through. You
can call your friend at any time for any reason. A friend will help however she can
whenever you're in a tight spot. You share your dreams, fears, secrets, and innermost
desires with your friend.
With close friends, or best friends, the definition of friendship expands, and now we add
the element of absolute trust. My best friend is someone I know I can trust with
everything. I trust her to not judge me when I do something wrong; I trust her to tell me
when I am wrong; I trust her to support me in everything I do, even if she thinks it sounds
silly! She is someone that even if we don't talk for ten years, we pick up the phone and it
is like no time has passed at all.
So what does the word friendship mean? In my opinion, friendship means more than just
"feelings of affection". It's so much more. Love, respect, affection; these emotions all
play a part in a friendship. There are many things that go into a friendship in addition to
these emotions, such as support, sympathy, appreciation and dedication. Therefore, to
define friendship, I would use this definition: "a deep and abiding relationship between
individuals expressing love, concern, respect, affection, appreciation and dedication".

Ce este prietenia? Aceasta este o ntrebare pe care fiecare dintre noi ar

rspunde diferit. Unii dintre voi ar putea crede c prietenia nseamn a fi acolo
pentru cineva, avand ca cineva putei mprti cu confidene. Unii vor spune c
prietenia are cineva care v va aduce pn atunci cnd suntei n jos. Sunt sigur
c vom cdea de acord c toate acestea sunt definiii corecte de prietenie
cuvntului. Dar in adancul sufletului, ce este prietenia?
Dicionarul definete prietenia ca "starea de a fi un prieten". Ce este un prieten?
Potrivit aceluiai dicionar, prieten este definit ca "o persoan ataat la alta prin
sentimente de afectiune sau de vedere personal". Acest lucru inseamna prietenia
este ataat la o alt persoan de afectiune si ceea ce privete personal.
Un prieten este cineva care va fi acolo pentru tine, indiferent ce ai de gnd prin
intermediul. Putei apela prietenul dvs. n orice moment pentru orice motiv. Un
prieten va ajuta toate acestea, ea poate ori de cte ori suntei ntr-un loc
strmt. V mprtesc visele voastre, temeri, secrete, i dorinele cele mai
intime cu prietenul tau.
Cu prieteni apropiai, sau cei mai buni prieteni, definiia de prietenie se extinde,
iar acum se adauga elementul de incredere absoluta. Prietenul meu cel mai bun
este cineva tiu c pot avea ncredere cu totul. Am ncredere n ea, nu mi-a
judeca atunci cand fac ceva gresit, am ncredere n ea s-mi spui atunci cnd am
greit, am ncredere n ea, s m sprijine n tot ceea ce fac, chiar dac ea crede
c se pare o prostie! Ea este cineva care chiar dac nu vorbim de zece ani, am
ridica telefonul si este ca si cum cel mai scurt timp a trecut, la toate.
Deci, ce nseamn prietenia cuvntul? n opinia mea, prietenia nseamn mai
mult dect doar "sentimente de afectiune". Este att de mult mai mult. Dragoste,
respect, afectiune; aceste emoii juca toate un rol ntr-o prietenie. Exist multe
lucruri care merg ntr-o prietenie, n plus fa de aceste emoii, cum ar fi suportul,
simpatie, apreciere i druire. Prin urmare, pentru a defini prietenie, mi-ar folosi
aceast definiie: "o relaie profund i statornic ntre indivizi exprima dragostea,
preocupare, respect, afectiune, apreciere i druire".
