POLYMER DEPARTMENT

Advancement in the field of nanotechnology reflected in the area polymer science

also, scientists invented nanostructured polymers and polymer nanocomposites for
different applications. At the nanoscale the physical, chemical and biological
properties of materials differ in fundamental and valuable ways from the properties of
individual atoms and molecules or bulk matter. Polymer department R&D is directed
toward understanding and creating improved materials, devices, and systems that
exploit these new properties.
The main activities of the department are
1. Nanostructured polymer synthesis
2. Nanostructured polymer analysis

The advancement in the area of organic polymers are tremendous in recent years due
to their interesting physical, electrical and chemical properties and are already used in
flexible displays, light emitting diodes (LED), field effect transistors (FET), super
capacitors, photovoltaic and photo conductive devices and optical modulator devices.

The worldwide market demand for polymer electronic products is worth up to 15

billion as of 2015 and as estimated the opportunity for new market demand could be
as high as 125 billion by 2025.
Organic polymer electronics can help to overcome some challenges in the electronic
industries by enabling new applications and processes. Organic conducting polymers
are thin, flexible, light weight, environmental friendly, and having wide range of
electrical applications.
