January 2010 Edition

The November Meeting of the Oregon Trail Chapter of the AMCA, held at Tom Krise's house,
Salem, OR, 11/14/2009. President Gene called the meeting to order at 2:45 pm. Tom K, standing in for
Secretary Shannon, read the minutes and they were approved.
Treasurer Tom R reported that he's still working on the paperwork transferring the the mantle of
treasurerhood from Jane to himself, as recognized by our bank.
Committee Reports: There is still work to be done on selecting a site for the 2010 Road Run. The
club hopes to vote on a site during the January meeting. Discussion narrowed our current choices to
McMinneville or Yachats.
Under New Business, Kathy motioned and Tom R. 2nd we eliminate the bulk mailing of
newsletters. Motion passed. Newsletters will be emailed and mailed only to those who request it
sometime in the future.
Under Old Business, we discussed the possibility of creating a logo sticker for our club, and other
goodies that promote membership.Kathy would like to know, for newsletters, some of our members'
histories, i.e.,
-first motorcycle, make/model
-who introduced them to riding
-first/early riding experiences
-current motorcycles
-motorcycle trip reports, i.e., long trips, memorable rides
-competition experiences
-pictures of club members' bikes
-why they joined the OTC
Tom R. expressed concern regarding conflict of meeting times with OVM and OTC for folks that
are members of both organizations.
Announcements:
National Road Run shirts are still for sale for $12. Talk to Jane.
Next OTC meeting: January 16, at Brooks Powerland, at the old gas station, 2 pm.
OVM winter Banquet will be at Tigard's Hi-Hat restaurant, February 13.
