Dear Families and Friends of Edgemont School,
We are excited to announce our See a Problem BEE the Solution Help-aThon, which starts on Monday, December 7 and ends on Sunday,
December 13 . The Help-a-Thon is a student-designed fundraiser to
support Nixon Bee Farms.

The Help-a-Thon is a way for the Grade 2 students to help others around
them and in turn they will be helping Nixon Bee Farms. Nixon Bee Farms is
a local organization that had 12 of their beehives stolen. Not only did they
lose 600,000 of their bees, they lost their trust in their community. Our
students see a problem and want to bee part of the solution and through
their Help-a Thon, they will raise money for Nixon Bee Farms.
Participants will help solve problems by offering a solution (a service) to
family and friends during the week of December 7th - 13th. Family and
friends can choose to donate a flat fee or they can make a donation per
service.
A few examples of services are;
-making their own bed
-setting the table
-picking up garbage in the community
-reading to a younger sibling
-cleaning their room or
-shoveling the snow
If you would like to participate, please return the form and the
donations on Monday, December 14th.
If you have any questions or concerns, please dont hesitate to contact your
childs teacher.
