Carrollton High School is located just north of the city of Saginaw. It is a
part of a small school district that operates K-12 schools and an adult
education program as well. The high school has a population of around 600
students from grades nine to twelve. The student population is supported by
roughly 45 staff members that use a variety of technology. The building is
organized with a typical school structure which includes an administration
that contains a principal, assistant principal and athletic director. The school
has two counseling staff for student services and the school administration is
supported by four administrative assistant individuals. There are 28 teachers
on staff at the school accompanied by six support staff.
The mission of Carrollton High School is as follows: The community of
Carrollton High School is committed to the goal of providing a safe, respectful
and progressive learning environment. We will empower students to be
productive, lifelong learners who have an awareness of being responsible,
global citizens.
The technology at Carrollton High School varies depending on the
needs of the classroom teacher. Although there are some technologies that
are ubiquitous to all classrooms, there are others that are more specific to
each classroom. Generally, the technology provided to staff and students is
frequently updated and helps to support the mission of providing a

progressive learning environment for students. It also supports staff that

are more tech-savvy than others. The school is covered by multiple Wifi
networks that support the schools mobile devices and personal mobile
devices on separate networks.
It should also be noted that the software listed is not specific to
individual teachers. Software listed is available to all staff and students, but
some have purchased programs specific to content area. Also, although not
listed in the inventory, many teachers make use of free and online software,
as well as web 2.0 applications. A major example of this not listed in the
inventory is Google Docs. This is used by nearly every teacher in the building
to one degree or another, but due to the nature of this program, is not
included in the inventory because it is both free and located entirely online.
