Drawing from work of art:

2.) Two Masks, (The Tomato) Henri Matisse, 1947

3.) I chose to reproduce the artwork to represent the themes, collage and
organic While watching videos of Matisses work, he had a large pair of
scissors and simply cut paper into beautiful organic shapes, without following
a trace or pre-planning his work. He cut these shapes and had assistance on
placing the shapes where he wanted them. This inspired me to become
familiar with his process, and cut organic shapes from painted paper, then
apply them to another sheet of painted paper. To represent the collage I
layered organic shapes together to represent his style of collage.

4.) To reflect the theme of collage organic I found these three objects in
my every day life:

I thought that this light reflected some of the words that I used to represent
Matisses work. The forms on the lamp are so organic and you can closely
look at the lamp to morph shapes together to create a new shape.

This flower reflected some of the themes that I found in Matisses Cut-Outs. I found
that his work reflected a lot of elements of nature, so I used this flower to represent
him taking the elements of nature and morphing them to become even more
organic and original to him.

For the final object, I chose this water bottle. The designs on the bottle are so
simplistic, but really capture that organic essence that draws the viewer in. I love
the collaged aspect of the bottle and it reminds me of how Matisse used the collage
aspect in his Cut-Outs.
