Formation of nano-rod and nano-particles of polyaniline using

Langmuir-Blodgett technique
Tm tt: During the past decades the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) film deposition process
has been considered by various researchers, as a potential technique for the production of
ultra-thin films with controlled molecular orientation. The aim of this study was explored
the possibility of producing various nano-structures of polyaniline ( PANI ) without the
aid of any templates using Langmuir-Blodgett technique. The paper show effect of sub
phase pH on the evolution of different nano-structures of PANI using Langmuir-Blodgett
technique. Rod like nano-structures of polyaniline of diameter 40nm and of length
400nm, are formed at pH 1. For pH of value 3, the dispersed particle like nano-structures
of PANI of diameter 15 nm. Lump type connected nano-structures are formed at pH 6.
The lump type particle like surface morphology is in agreement with TEM structural
morphology. The result show that different doping induces nano-structures of polyaniline
can be formed by varying the pH of the sub-phase in a Langmuir-Blodgett trough. The
study is of importance for the development of sensors with improved characteristics.

Development of functional surface by nano-plastic forming

Tm tt: A new nano-fabrication processes are needed to address the requirements such
as lower cost, less stringency in method and high through put. The aim of this study was
proposed a nano-fabrication process by direct imprinting method, which is named nanoplastic forming. The study reports nano-plastic forming tests of glasses using various
diamond tools : knife-edge tool, Multi-point tool and Nano-structured tool. Nano-plastic
forming method proposed in this study is simple, less stringency, and useful for nano
fabrication of glasses. Petriodic nano/micro structures are fabricated by using the
specially designed diamond tools. It is also shown that friction properties and optical
transmittance of glasses depends on depth and pitch of nano/micro structures on the glass
surface funtions canbe controlled by the nano-plastic forming technique.
