Student Teaching Goals

1. To be fully confident as a classroom teacher in all aspects of teaching.
I will establish my presence and voice as an educator in the beginning of the school year.
I will do this by carrying out my cooperating teachers set classroom expectations and
rules. My confidence as a teacher will take time to grow, but I will use each day to
progress and learn from previous deficiencies.
2. To understand and establish my role in a Professional Learning Community and work
collaboratively with a team of teachers.
I will be a supportive and cooperating member of the Professional Learning Community
at Florence-Carlton School. I will try to provide creative, applicable suggestions to assist
in students learning experience. I will be respectful and strategize with the fellow sixth
grade teachers.
3. To assist students make substantial and meaningful connections between content and
everyday life.
I will do this by getting to know each student and learning about his/her interests. Also, I
will learn about the Florence community and other facets which join community
members.
4. To acquire effective classroom management strategies.
I will collaborate with my cooperating teacher to establish consistent classroom
management strategies. Also, I will seek help when strategies are not working and
establish an alternative strategy.
