Course Description:
Poor corporate governance and unethical behaviour have a significantly negative impact
on professional service delivery, reputation and, ultimately, profit. The King III Report
stipulates that a company should run a sound business operation, live by ethical
standards and build a culture of integrity.
This programme will empower participants to understand the requirements of sound
corporate governance, legal compliance and ethics management at an operational level.
The course focuses on practical applicability at the workplace.
Course Content:
The cost implication of employee dishonesty and how to manage the risk by
applying corporate and ethics-governance models;
the risks of poor corporate governance resulting in e.g. corruption and
occupational fraud;
the relationship between legislation, corporate rules and ethical imperatives;
how corporate governance evolved over the years and what future
expectations are;
basic ethics vocabulary and ethical decision-making models;
the ethical duties of directors and ethical dilemmas that they may face; and
the long term value of ethical behaviour and good governance.
