Intervention For Fighting
Intervention For Fighting
Step one:
Mediation- Have a class in place so the parties can talk out their issues. They will
learn more about each other, and learn other ways of expressions other than
fighting. They can, relate to each other and loose the hatred for each other and
maybe realise why they fought in the first place. They should do mediation for the
first day of the punishments. A follow up will be put in place a few weeks later.
Step two:
All day ALC, determined by the principal. The principal will determine how many
days of ALC the parties will receive due to their fight.
Step three:
A follow up, on the parties a few weeks later to determine if they have changed
things and learned their lesson. It will be offered during the week and will be at
least two lunch periods.
Overall Plan
When kids get into fights at school, the first thing that happens to them, is that
their separated and then suspended. While suspended, if the parents dont care,
what is the lesson learned. They can goof around at home.
Our plan is instead of suspending kids from fighting, they should create an
intervention with them. The intervention would be in a class for at least the first day
of their punishments and they would talk to the other person they fought and they
could solve the problem. For example, when you get suspended you come back
with the same hatred for that person. After the mediation, you do the remainder of
days in all day alc. This way you're forced to stay at school and learn.
