Topic/Objective: Chloroplasts and Photosynthesis

Name: Sergio Alvarado

Class/Period: 5
Date: 11/16 11/19

Essential Question: Investigate the molecular pathway through which light energy is transferred to chemical energy and
dispersed throughout an ecosystem

Questions:
What is
photosynthesis?

Notes:
Photosynthesis is the process of which sunlight, Co2 and Water are
input into plants and undergo the Calvin cycle and light dependent
reaction to create c6h12o6 or glucose.

`
What are the main
parts of
chloroplasts that
photosynthesis
occurs in?

What are the

products and
reactants that
occur from
photosynthesis?

The main parts of the chloroplasts are:

Thylakoid
Stroma
Lumen
Granum
Chlorophyll
CO2 + H2O => C6H12O6 + O2

What are the main

items that impact
the rate of
photosynthesis?

The main items that impact photosynthesis are:

Temperature
Water
Light intensity
CO2

Why is
photosynthesis
important to
animals?

Photosynthesis is important to humans and other animals because

the process leads for a survival of living organisms. The water,
sunlight, and CO2 that are put into the cycle of plants for
photosynthesis leave a product of oxygen to breath and glucose as
a form of energy.
