Welcome back to school

Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back to the new school year! I will be teaching all of the 9th and
10th graders algebra while all of the 11th and 12th graders will learn geometry. This
year our classroom is focused on collaborative learning and learning with an
emphasis in current events. I believe that your learners should be learning about
the world around them while also learning math skills. The curriculum will be
integrated with current issues that are within and out of the school. Students will be
tracking math goals as well as behavior goals throughout the year. I believe
students should begin to take responsibility for their own learning achievements.

Within our classroom students are given a lot of freedoms. I expect that all of
my students will be able to learn in the most comfortable way with these freedoms.
If students are unable to handle these freedoms, they will be revoked. If there are
discipline issues such as disruptive behavior, students will have a one on one
meeting with me to create a solution. I am very excited to work with your learners!
Looking forward to seeing you at conferences, feel free to contact me if you have
any questions or thoughts you would like to share. Let's make it a great year!
