Matthew T. Collins wrote a process paper about his thesis that the exploration of Greenland was important due to the dangers faced by Erik the Red and his men. He chose this topic because Erik the Red is not well known, and researched it at the local library and online. His topic relates to Erik exploring Greenland, encounters with Greenlanders and Icelanders, and the exchange of goods, supporting his thesis that they faced perilous situations. He created a website with his partner to present his research and they checked it multiple times to ensure it met requirements and had no errors.

My thesis is that the exploration of Greenland was important because of the
dangers and efforts Erik and his men were put through as they discovered and explored Greenland. I chose my topic because I thought that not many people knew of Erik the Red so I decided people need to know how important he is. I chose my topic originally from a non-specific topics about just Vikings. But then my eye caught on a website about Erik and noticed that we should narrow down our topic to Erik the Red. I researched my topic by visiting the local public library and searching the web. I developed our project by using my dads tips about making a website to create a weebly. My topic relates to the theme of Erik and his team Exploring Greenland, making new Encounters in Greenland, and Exchanging goods with Iceland and nearby Inuit. This also proves my thesis is correct because they faced deadly situations with the Inuit and other organisms on Greenland at the time. This event completely changed history. It shows how important he was at the time. To society, this is as important in history as Leif Eriksson discovered North America. I also went to my partners house to work on the website there. Thats where we did the formatting and put our research onto the website. While we were there, we created our introduction on the Home page and we checked over the sentences to make sure they were complete sentences. Then I put the annotated bibliography and the process paper onto the site. Then we checked over it to make sure we were inside the word limit and checked over the website to make sure it made all the requirements of the NHD Rulebook. We then checked over the website once more to make sure there werent any grammatical errors or anything like glitches or bugs in the site. Then we debated on who would present the website itself.
