It is my pleasure to highly recommend Carmen Oliva for a teaching position. I had the honor of
working with Carmen when she was an intern and teacher candidate in my second grade class
for the 2}t4-20t5 school year at Kingswood Elementary. During this time, I had the
opportunity to collaborate and teach with her.
Carmen has a caring and positive rapport with her students and demonstrates management
strategies that support students' engagement in their learning. She provides specific, positive
feedback, continually checks for understanding, and uses multiple engagement strategies so all
students are involved. Her instruction is planned with care, tailored to the specific needs of her

students, and presented in a highly effective manner. She has a deep knowledge of
instructional techniques and differentiates her lessons to meet the needs of a variety of
learners. She is extremely reflective and constantly strives to model best practices.
Carmen is dedicated and involved. She actively participated in professional development
throughout the year and attended multiple school functions outside of the regular school day.
She supports the learning community and takes the time to build relationships with her
colleagues, students, and their families. Carmen continually demonstrates her professionalism
in everything she does.
From my experience with Carmen, it is evident that she truly cares about students. She is a
hard worker, motivated, and responsible and is an asset to the teaching profession. I highly
recommend Carmen and have no doubt that your school will benefit from her contributions to
