Instructions
Read the quote on the white board by
the flags. Then on the notecard you were
handed at the door answer the following
three questions in complete sentences
1. Why do you think there are different
colored words on the board?
2. What is difference between and act
and habit?
3. What does this quote mean to you?

Entering the Classroom

Come in quietly.
Go directly to your seat
Begin working on the Bell Ringer

Done daily
Graded each week
Must be completed in a
notebook/composition book.

Topic: Free write about why you think
communication is important to a
society.

Types of Bell Ringers

Free Write- Write in any type of manner
that is comfortable to you about the
topic on the board.
Thinking Maps- Venn Diagrams, KWL
Charts, T-charts ect.
Short answer questions
Multiple choice questions- Be sure to
write the question and the answer!
Vocabulary words

Tardies
Wait quietly at the door to be let in

Turning in work
Have your full name, class period,
and date on work.
Turn into your class periods tray on
the cabinet at the front of the room.
Be sure that all work is stapled and
labeled with your name.
Do not touch other class periods
trays and work!

Lecture
No cell phones out.
Actively be taking notes
No talking while another person (Miss
Randolph, another speaker, or
another classmate) is speaking
Raise your hand if you want to be
called on

Absent?
All the weeks assignments are
posted on Miss Randolphs website.
If there are extra copies they will be
in the black box by the turn in try in
Miss Randolphs room.

Missing Work
Zero in skyward means it is missing.
Check skyward!
You have one week to get missing
work into me after that you start with
a 70.
On Friday of every other week I will
post on the board your name, you
can check skyward or come see me
at the end of class for your work.

Tutorials
Tutorials for this class are on
Wednesday. If you drop below a 75
you will be assigned tutorials.
There will be a running list for
tutorials as the semester goes on.

Grades
Daily work vs. tests
Speeches You will receive a rubric before all major
speeches. If you want to do a speech
outside of class advanced warning must
be give to Miss Randolph. You must
give your speech in front of an
audience.

Cell Phones
You are to only have your phone out
when instructed by Miss Randolph.
If you have it out when it isnt
allowed it will be taken up by Miss
Randolph and taken to the office at
the end of the period.
If phones become a distraction in
class when allowed out they will not
be allowed out anymore.

Bathroom
When you want to go to the bathroom,
you have to ask. I reserve the right to
say you cant go or have to wait. Try
not to need to go during lecture.

Leaving the classroom

I dismiss the classroom not the bell.
When it is time to start packing up I
will let you know. Do not start before.
We will either be dismissed as a
whole or by table colors.
