Frederic Francis Chopin was a famous pianist and composer,
who was born on March 1, 1810. He was considered a matchless
genius when it came to his talent of playing the piano. In his
entire musical career, he only had 30 public performances in all of
his 30 years of concertizing. Chopin grew up in Poland, but soon
after he started performing, he became recognized in many
places outside of Poland. He eventually moved to Paris, where he
produced most of his more famous work, such as the Sonata in Bflat minor. He once was engaged to a woman named Maria
Wodzinski, but the engagement was broken off by her family.
Chopin was unique in the fact that he was the first composer to
devote himself and his music completely to piano. In 1847,
Chopin became very ill, and left Paris in 1848 to go to England

and Scotland, but returned later that year. In 1849, Chopin had
died. There is an annual piano competition named after him called
the International Chopin Piano Competition. Chopin is considered
to one of the many great composers that still influence todays
music. Many musicians still play his music and revere it as some
of the best piano music written.
