Explain your involvement and how you and the community benefited from this service:
I have been volunteering my time in a 1st through 3rd Special Day Class at Olmos Elementary. Mrs. Fairless has been
kind enough to allow me to spend some time in the class with her students. During my time I help students with anything
they may need help with. In addition,I work with small groups during independent reading time, math, or fun Friday. This
has been such a great experience because it has truly given me an insight of how a Special Education classroom works.
By volunteering my time it has encouraged me to purse a dual credential in the future. Nevertheless, I feel that although I
do assist the student in the class I have learned so much from them and Mrs. Fairless that I have been the one benefiting
the most from the experience.

Explain your involvement and how you and the community benefited from this service:
I voulenteered my time putting boxes full of food together for 12 needy families here in Fresno. These boxes of food are
so these families can prepare a Christmas dinner. I have collected donations of food or money have have gone out to buy
food to fill the boxes. In addition, I wrapped the 12 boxes with Christmas wrapping paper. The distribution of the boxes will
take place on December 17, 2014 at Edison High School. This experience has taught me that by volunteering my time I
am making it possible for 12 families to have a Christmas dinner something that many of use take for granted.
