Grading System
Chapter 1:
(The Problem and its Background)
Introduction
In a highly technological society, human productivity is made more efficient
through the development of electronic gadgets. Now, with the advent of such
modernization in education, one way to globalize the process of research is to realize
that technology is advancing at an incredibly fast phase. Computers are not confined to
being used for entertainment but its role in education is also vast.
Grading is one of the most important activities a faculty member does. Many problems
in teaching arise because of grading issues.
Elementary School is using a manual computation of grades of each student, which is
the traditional use when technology is not yet developed. Manual computation is very
prompt to risk for any circumstances. It is time consuming in terms of recording grades,
computation using of calculator. If some records are lost, they never retrieve it in case of

unexpected calamity. Accuracy and security is not been so defined.

Computers are becoming in our life and one cannot image life without computers in
todays world. If you go in any establishment computers are all places. We can say that
this kind of innovation assist each and every one of us uses to experience a wellsituated life. Thus, we students also need to use different gadgets, devices or modern
technologies in order to have an easy going life at school. A manual computation in a
school wont give us a quick computation. Grade is the primary need in every school all
over the world.
The Grading System is the process of applying standard measurements of
varying levels of achievement in a course. Another way the grade point average (GPA)
can be determined is through extracurricular activities, Grades can be assigned as
letters (generally A through F), as a range (for example 1 to 6), as a percentage of a
total number of questions answered correctly, or as a number out of a possible total (for
example out of 20 or 50).
In some countries, all grades from all current classes are averaged to create a Grade
Point Average (GPA) for the marking period. The GPA is calculated by taking the
number of grade points a student earned in a given period of time through Elementary
School. A cumulative grade point average is a calculation of the average of all of a
student's grades for all of his or her complete education career.

Grading System
Statement of the Problem
Having a program of a Grading system this is a good step to change the very
old education system of our country. We have progressed and developed in many field
but the Educational system is same.

1. The grading system used the school for making a Grade faster
2. The program is effective to the user

3. Sorting of student names

4. The program is secured

Objective of the study

1. To compute grades easier
2. To lessen the time in computing grades
3. To avoid erasures
4. To organize columns and rows easier

Grading System
Significant of the Study
The computer provides convenience to its user through easier and the faster way
of recording information. Population of students in almost all educational institution is
rapidly increasing so great demand in teaching force is also becoming higher.

Grading system is a very important aspect of schools operations and goals. The
students are graded to measure their performance and knowledge in every grading
period. Teacher spend massive time to accurately compute the grades of student using
the program

The basic objective of grading system is to communicate to parents a periodic

evaluation summarizing significant factors of students adjustment.

Scope and Limitation

Scope:
1. Can view the students records
2. Can compute the students grades
3. The system is password protected

Limitation:
1. The system cannot print the students grades
2. The system cannot viewed online
3. The system has no password recovery

Grading System
Conceptual Frame Work
The system analysis uses the information to accomplish the logical design of the
Grading system. It is also designed in effective input and users-friendly program.

The system analysis uses simple the information collected earlier in order to accomplish
the logical design of the Grading System. It is designed in and accurate form entry
procedures so that data going into the Grading System are correct. It is also designed in
Effective input and user-friendly program.

Defination of terms
VB6.0 (visual basics)
-

Is a third-generation event-driven programming language and integrated

development environment (IDE) from Microsoft for its COM programming
model first released in 1991 and declared legacy in 2008. Microsoft intended
Visual Basic to be relatively easy to learn and use. Visual Basic was derived
from BASIC and enables the rapid application development (RAD) of
graphical user interface (GUI) applications, access to databases using Data
Access Objects, Remote Data Objects, or ActiveX Data Objects, and creation
of ActiveX controls and objects.
A programmer can create an application using the components provided by
the Visual Basic program itself. Over time the community of programmers
developed third party components. Programs written in Visual Basic can also
use the Windows API, which requires external function declarations.
The final release was version 6 in 1998 (now known simply as Visual Basic).
On April 8, 2008 Microsoft stopped supporting Visual Basic 6.0 IDE. The
Microsoft Visual Basic team still maintains compatibility for Visual Basic 6.0
applications on Windows Vista, Window Server 2008 including R2, Windows
7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 and Windows 10 through
its "It Just Works" program. In 2014 there were tens of thousands of
developers who still prefer Visual Basic 6.0 over Visual Basic .NET. In 2014
some developers lobbied for a new version of Visual Basic 6.0.

System
-

A set of components that interact to achieve a common goal.

A set of connected things or parts forming a complex whole, in particular.

A set of principles or procedures according to which something is done; an

organized scheme or method.

An organized purposeful structure that consists of interrelated and

interdependent elements components, entities, factors, member, etc.). These
elements continually influence one another (directly or indirectly) to maintain
their activity and the existence of the system, in order to achieve the goal of
the system.

A set of detailed methods, procedures and routines created to carry out a

specific activity perform a duty, or solve a problem.

Grade
- Arrange in or allocate to grades; class or sort.
-

Pass gradually from one level, especially a shade of color, into another.

Is the process of applying standardized measurements of varying levels of

achievement in a course? Another way the grade point average (GPA) can be
determined is through extracurricular activities.

Is a systematic and explicit approach to making judgments about quality of

evidence and strength of recommendations?
