Literature survey on Smart City Malaysia Education Sector

Developed countries have not been chosen because their education system is entirely different from ours.
Smart education thrives to improve the educational system fostering the development of a
workforce prepared to meet the challenges of next century. Transforming the educational system will
entail changing the culture and practices of Malaysias primary and secondary schools, moving away from
memory-based learning designed for the average student to an education that stimulates thinking,
creativity, and caring in all students, caters to individual abilities and learning styles, and is based on more
equitable access.
The following article reviews the teaching and learning concepts taken by Malaysia.
1. Teaching and learning concepts
Building an environment which entails best education practices in the world. It includes
a. Curriculum
It will promote holistic learning, allowing children to progress at their own pace and cater
students varying capabilities, interests and needs.

Assessment will be on the basis of many other parameters along with grades. Holistic
performance will be assessed. Cumulative accomplishments will be graded.

Classrooms with multimedia courseware presentation facilities.
Library/media center with database center for multimedia courseware
Computer laboratory with audiovisual facilities.

Teachers room with online access of to professional development tools, courseware, catalogues
and databases.
Multimedia development centre with tools for creating multimedia materials.
