Dear Administrators:
Universal Athletic Services, Inc. is very proud to announce our twenty seventh annual scholarship,
made available to an outstanding male and female student athlete in Montana.
We have always taken a great deal of pride in being a Montana company and want to continue to
support Montana schools and their young people in the best ways that we know how. Universal
is deeply appreciative of the loyalty shown to our company by the schools and hope that we
continue to deserve their business with good service and quality products.
The two scholarships will each be in the amount of $500.00 to a male and female for one year, to
be used at a Montana college or university. We want the applicants to be quality young people
that have made your school proud and need additional funds to go on to college. We will not
consider those students who have already earned a full athletic or scholastic scholarship. Those
students with plans to enter the field of education will be given special attention as we would like
to encourage outstanding people to enter the teaching and
possibly coaching profession.
A list of criteria accompanies this letter, and if you should need any additional application forms,

Remember the applications must be post-marked by June 1, 2016.

STUDENT-ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIP
GRANT CRITERIA
1.

To be awarded to one male and one female student/athlete graduating from a

Montana high school.

2.

To be awarded annually in the amount of $500.00 to each winner, a total of

$1,000.00, not renewable.

3.

To be used to attend a Montana college or university of their choice.

4.

The following criteria are required for evaluation in the selection process:

Must be a student with at least a 3.0 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale.

The student must have competed in at least two (2) different varsity sports in
high school.
The student has been both a leader in their school and an outstanding
example in their community. (Reference letters are recommended.)
The student has a need for aid in order to attend college. (Has not received
a full athletic or academic scholarship.)
Please note that preference will be shown to those students going into the
teaching/coaching profession.
The student must not have been suspended from any athletic team for rules
violation. (School official signature required.)
The student should include a personal statement discussing their experience
in high school sports and their personal goals. (Please include on a separate
page.)
An official high school transcript must accompany the application.
